So it looks like TomTom is poised to release more than just the DUO docking unit in the near future, as the loose-lipped database at the FCC has revealed yet another new model that's bound to generate some excitement. All that's known about the so-called TomTom ONE XL so far is that it features a widescreen display considerably bigger than the 3.5-inch, 4:3 number found on the original
ONE -- unfortunately for us, manufacturers aren't required to provide the FCC with an easy-to-read spec list. However, we can speculate that this wide-bodied will at least maintain the 32MB of RAM, SD slot, and Bluetooth support of its bretheren -- those last two are evident from the photos -- and that it will probably rock Navigator 6, TomTom's latest navigation software. That's all for now, so if you happen to be ordering an original ONE at the same time you're reading this, you might want to reconsider before you hit submit.

...except that the original ONE is being heavily discounted to $299 SRP and can be gotten for $250. I wouldn't think the XL will be going for so cheap.

Mickey,
Yeah, no kidding. I just got my ONE for $215 after coupons. I am more than happy with it, I just received the new TeleAtlas maps, loaded the NA map on my 2 gig card. Very accurate and all I need.
I mean this unit looks great and all, but I bet it's hella expensive (over $500). This makes my decision to get a bargain-basement One for just over $200 with the latest maps free an easy one!

with every new release there is a new low price set as the standard. the 700 was retailed at $1300 and when the 910 replaced it, it had 10 times the features and the retail was $900. the same will happen this unit is going to be around $400 retail and can be found for $300-$350 online a month later
