Save some power with Hyundai's 46-inch 1080p LCD
Hyundai has announced a Korean 46-inch LCD with 1080p support that consumes 7% less power than a comparable LCD, and uses S-PVA technology for a wider 178-degree viewing angle. From scrutinizing the images at AVING it has a two pairs of HDMI and component connects. The Vuon E465D also supports the capability to use an image from the built-in USB port as a placeholder during the boot sequence, so you can replace the standard boot logo with whatever you like -- say, the Engadget logo?

wow. 7% less power, I'm glad they are making breakthroughs.

No doubt, doesn't sound like much of a savings to me either. Any clue how LCD and OLED compare on power output?

Cool! I want to put my own logo, like maybe on of my name, or my school, or my baseball team. But defintiely not one with a half-eaten white apple. Something about it seems kind of rotten.

Who in the hell cares about an LCD consuming 7% less power?!? And who is the loser who actually measured it and thought it was a selling point?!
geekmorgan @ Mar 6th 2007 6:51PM
How long does a TV take to boot that you'd need a logo up there?

yeah 7%. hoo rah. al gore, here's your solution.

Stop putting the link to your stupid site on your comments. I'm quite certain that all the Apple fanboys have their own little cult site to go to, and we don't need you spamming up the comment section. So stay in your own little world, and stop posting spam on the site.

7% is quite a lot, certainly a selling point for me IF it has equal quality in other areas, I would probably pay around $400 extra for the 7% less power wastage.
That is also likely to be a selling point across western europe where concerns over global warming etc. are growing, it certainly seems a interesting TV though in all honesty I would probably still go with a Bravia or the Phillips whatever its called.

7% less power is pretty lame but worse is how new Korean TV is announced without any hot chick standing next to it.

How long does it take to boot? Why would you need a logo for it. My 1080p set turns on like instantly.

Uhmmmm...A whopping 7%? That doesn't ease the pain from the fact it's a Hyundai...It will depreciate 40% when you take it out of the store :)

Why no DVI?
Darrell @ Mar 7th 2007 1:16AM
Will this come with a 5 year/100,000 mile warranty?
Reza @ Mar 7th 2007 1:33AM

See I like this, finally a LCD with booting time. Booting time apparently long enough, so you could have your own logo fitted in.

要怎麼把開頭改成這樣呢?
我也想要變成那個Engadget的圖案
