Hands-on with Olympus's SP-550UZ, Stylus 780, 770SW, 760, and FE-230, FE-240, and FE-250
Home stretch, camera nerds; last up is our photo gallery of hands-ons with all of Olympus's non-DSLR shooters (for the DSLRs, check out the E-510 and E-410 and hands-ons). We caught the SP-550UZ prosumer hybrid -- a very solid piece of machinery -- as well as their new Stylus 780, 770SW, 760, and the lower end but still very respectable FE-230, FE-240, and FE-250. Check 'em out, and wash yourselves of all the digital camera news for a short while as the world recovers from all the new photographic equipment its been asked to process.

Please, ENOUGH with the cameras. I appreciate new camera info as much as the next guy but SOMEBODY please give cameras their own blog.
I received an Olympus Stylus 720SW as a gift in January of 2007. The pictures taken by the camera were blurry and grainy in my tests (and from what I observed on Flickr's Camera Finder.
The camera price had dropped at BestBuy from $399 to $329 in a week during February. The camera that I received was purchased for $408 in January. I guess people are starting to realize that while on
paper this device seems perfect (waterproof, shockproof, fairly robust design, etc) they take a few pictures and immediately drop the camera for another.
I went over to dpreview.com and decided on a Canon
SD700 IS instead. This camera has been quite a bit better for me and the image stabilization works a ton better (w/o having a separate mode
like the Olympus).
My god, that's a good looking camera!
By the way, 720 SW only has digital image stabilization mode.
I sell the olympus 7.1 MP SW 720 and I must say it is an outstanding digital camera with great clarity, easy operation and easy to follow instructions. I have gotten alot of requests for this camera and now you have even better ones. WOW, This is to good to be true. Thanks from parfumsareus.com. DON YEARY (Owner)
I guess not everybody can be satified. Well I am. These are some of the best cameras on the market and some people just don't know until they get out and shoot with it. These new ones I hope I can get for my site to sale. That one person that had all the problems should have sent it back to you folks and would have been taken care of. Come check out my cameras at http://www.parfumsareus.com. You will see that I have quite a few Olympus cameras and many others. Keep up the good work.
