LG's HT752TP home theater pyramid simulates 10.1 sound, talks to aliens
LG has a new home theater system so lightweight that it can be effortlessly balanced by a one-handed product waif. The new HT752TP "flat home theater" shares the design aesthetic of their HT702TN while introducing touch sensitive keys to evoke the ancient powers of the pyramid. It features a slot loading DVD, HDMI, and USB host port with 10.1 channel simulated audio from a 5.1 rig thanks to their Virtual Sound Matrix technology. Hey, that's what they say. Presumably it will even open a communication corridor to Marshall Applewhite when worn as a hat.

This is great news!

There has to be something else than a hot sexy asian in that photo... but I can't make it up... Any ideas?
does anyone even know what 10.1 rig sounds like? I didn't think so...so how do we know if they're lying?
Is it just me, or is that "product waif" sporting quite a little bicep there? It might actually be less lightweight than the remote you'd rather be holding afterall.
the day that i point to an asian womans bicep and complain about said weight being held by that tiny woman is the day i kill myself. think about it.
it looks a little like my interocitor.
Duhh....a photoshopped hot sexy asian....
If here legs were any more blended, I mighta screamed GREASED LIGHTNING!!!!
On a second look, eh... the girl is using both hands. Look that bump over her knee.
My 2c.
Yeah, it's pretty obvious that she is using both hands. Sometimes Engadget tries too hard with their commentary...
But must admit that as a joke was a good one... But as for the comments, people really thought it was a truly outrageous marvel woman trait.
i think half her body weight is in her right arm
Um, it was a joke guys... and I thought it was somewhat amusing. The photographic composition is pretty bad and they're kinda pointing that out.
Not to mention the girl's not even that cute... seems like some engadget readers need to get back to the real world for a few minutes each day, you're slipping away.
Where do I get content with 10.1 channel sound?
Actually the unit is quite small - thanks to the digital amp. It was displayed at the CES and at the IFA.
Honestly, as Mr. B states, what kind of stuff is 10.1?? I don't see any movies being mastered in 10.1
Oh 10.1, whooptee-doo. Now it really, really sounds like there's sound coming all around you. Well, there is sound coming from all around you, but now it sounds like it's coming from more places than speakers... great. Kev50027's right, nothing's being mastered in 10.1. Quality of the speaker and electronics is going to matter much more than some silly proprietary 10.1 technology (reminds me of those silly upscalers in HDTVs that supposedly make broadcast 480i into 960i or the like).
"Jack, looks like we've got a little bit of trouble" -Daniel
"YA THINK?" - Jack
-Stargate SG-1
(But I don't think that model was in the original show)
Yea Jon, perhaps this is a model of a new Ha'tak prototype.
"(reminds me of those silly upscalers in HDTVs that supposedly make broadcast 480i into 960i or the like)."
Actually, digital HDTVs HAVE to have scalers. That is the only way an image that is not it's native resolution will be dispalyed on the screen.
Her legs aren't blended, you dope. She's wearing panty hose.
