Sanyo's Xacti CG65 H.264 video cam
After a Xacti 2.0 teaser campaign initiated last week, Sanyo finally got to the business of releasing their latest Xacti, the DMX-CG65. The first of their new Xacti II cams maintains the pistol-grip profile the Xacti name is synonymous with only this time with Sanyo's new Pure Fourth III image processor and optical image stabilization to shore-up the 6 megapixel CCD and 5x optical zoom lens. It can also record H.264 quality video to SDHC cards -- that's about 6 hours at the highest quality settings (640 x 480, 30fps, 3Mbps) when fitted with an 8GB card. Available in Japan at the end of April for about ¥50,000 or $426.

I can not seem to download the video from this camera. No problem with still photos. Can anyone help.? thx.
I was Very disapointed with the Sanyo Xacti C6 that I bought. I was hoping for a nice small camera that would take decent video of my children. Now i can't afford a good camera and am stuck with this junk. Here is the main problem: During playback you can hear all the cameras internal workings. This problem with the mic should have been caught by the company. Unfortunately I didn't catch it right away or I would have returned it. You cant notice it till you play it on a computer to edit. I've since read similar reviews. Please don't be suckered in by it's size because you will be dissapointed with a Sanyo Xacti.
I have the C5 and love it. Is it perfect? No. But I have more video than I ever would have without it. It is so easy to throw in your pocket and document life, kids, events, etc., My biggest problem with it is low light performance. If you have good light, you are good to go.
I have a Xacti C5 and I have never had his problem, I would be very interested in hearing what exactly solid state circuitry sounds like!
That is one of the reasons I returned my Xacti C6, I thought mine was defective because it made so much noise.
For those that may know more about this than i do....talking pure quality here, this or the Canon TX-1? I can live with 13 minutes of high def footage when I want to shoot high def which is the major drawback of the TX-1. Just wondering if anyone can make some useful compare/contrast stylee notes for us?
Sorry I should have clarified what internal workings I was speaking of: the zoom.
We've had a C6 for the past year and have loved it. Never had the noise problem you described.
I just bought this at a local electronics store here in Japan.
It is working very well. I am surprised at JUST HOW SMALL it is and the very wide set of features. I do have a quick question.
How do you edit H.264 footage on a Mac. I can't seem to import the footage into Final Cut Express. Any one out there using this with a Mac?
Thank you.
