We kind of get a kick out of possible laws that have to spell out common sense to people lacking it, so we chuckled a bit when we saw that legislators in Oregon and Washington want to pass laws against DWT, or "Driving While
Texting." To those that just can't enjoy the peaceful gridlock of that daily commute, better not whip out that handset or even the beloved
BlackBerry and start sending
SMSs, emails, or whatever your own text-based poison may be. Considering how many distractions already plague drivers in modern vehicles, we suggest just a
fave DAP with a preset playlist and leave it at that, eh?
You're going to get in an accident reading that sign, holly crap is it long.

Seriously, where is the speech recognition technology? If I could just speak and have my Treo translate into text I would be golden!
L3, or you could just pull over, put it off, or spend less time in a car.
You want speech to text? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyLqUf4cdwc
In WA, it's illegal to drive with earphones in so unless you have an FM transmitter for your DAP, you're still looking at a ticket
We don't need more laws on the books. Just enforce the ones we have for inattentive driving.
