Not that bad of a trade, if you ask us. Nintendo has come forward and discounted the sketchy rumor de jour of an external
Wii-bound hard drive being slated for production, with a Nintendo Europe spokesperson calling the reports "pure rumour and speculation" -- like that's a
bad thing. The flip side is that Nintendo took this happy occasion to confirm that the "Poképhone"
DS-based VoIP action is going to hit the States next month alongside that DS headset accessory we've been seeing around forever. Of course, this isn't a huge surprise, but it's always nice to have some confirmation, even if it means getting a hopeful rumor shot down in the process.
what would be the point of a wii hard drive anyway? It's not like it can play videos (or hi-def videos at that), and any VC games that are taking too much space should just be stored on a USB flash drive or something of that nature.
Well I can think of one reason... revenue! But, I agree with you.

What will the hard drive be useful for? Virtual Console games I guess. Especially now that there are rumors floating that they will have there might be Sega Saturn games coming to the Virtual Console. Would be even cooler if they have SD cards might not be enough for those.
At least they actually came out and denied it. Lots of companies like to say no comment on something that's still completely false.

Thank you
No hard drive, eh? Well, they said that the DS wasn't receiving a redesign, so we'll see about that.
I've already seen the headset in us stores.... "Good Buy" (get it) to be exact. I guess I should have gotten it when i saw it.
So...did they deny it in the same way they flat out denied the DS Lite, two weeks before announcing it?
Why is peacachu humping the headset?
I don't know why Nintendo is announcing the DS headset as if it is soemthing new, when generic manufacturers already have had their own headsets for months.
Damn I guess they won't be releasing a hard drive for the original NES either, since they have about the same amount of use.
I'm STILL waiting for the DS Opera browser to be released in the US. Anyone hear anything about that??
The Nintendo DS Browser is due for June 4th, according to info revealed at GDC 2007.
