The Motorola LAZR?

If you still have RAZRs on the brain after laying eyes on this puppy, we might recommend you get that noodle checked. At a time when Moto perhaps needs a hit more than ever, this shiny piece of gorgeous -- allegedly the "LAZR" -- appears poised to come in and save the day. Features of the chromed-out clamshell are said to include a half gig of internal storage with no expansion slot, Linux (a trend we'll see more and more in Moto's new models), some manner of text-to-speech system for emails and SMSes, and a frickin' two inch external display. No word on a release at this point, but we've got our fingers crossed that it'll bow all official-like at CTIA next week.[Via Howard Forums, thanks Ishay P.]

Need to see it opened (and use it myself) before making any judgements. But I like the look of the exterior, I guess. Still waiting for the phone that makes me really want a cell.
No expansion slot? Yawn. It's a glamour fone. Granted, a glamour fone running GPL software.

Motorola SUCKS on batteries because they make them. They want them to go bad quickly so you have to buy new ones. My advice always buy Nokia, best signal, voice clarity and best battery life
I want Motorola to come out with a side flip phone that has a small keypad that you can type messages but doesn't necessarily scream nerd or acts as a PDA.

Voice recognition for SMS seems kinda strange, considering you can -you know- call someone on the thing.

The "Lazr" looks to me like the next big thing not a lot of users (at least in the US or Europe) Use the expandible memory and 512mb is probably for High MP camera rating, I'd say 3.2 or higher, Motorola will sell a ton of these, look at the RAZR, with contract when it came out was near 600 bucks, and had GPRS, while the V551 was far less expensive and was compareable with all the features, and it had EDGE, people, atlest in america, are materialistic and will eat this phone up, especially if it's hyped as well as the RAZR.
