AT&T and
Napster have joined hands to offer customers access to some three million songs for a year via Napster To Go. This 180 dollar freebie -- if, of course, you have the right plan -- will allow subscribers to download, organize, and create playlists on a PC and then sync them to their handset or compatible music device. This offer is a bit of a
rehash from back in November 2004 when Cingular owned AT&T, but this time instead of 14.95 a month, it's free (and we love free). Reading through the list of qualifying plans is a bit of a daunting affair, so our advice is to hit up your local bricks and mortar AT&T shop on or after the April 1st launch for the lowdown.
What's the deal, Engadget, getting lazy? Why don't you read through the daunting regulations and help us your loyal readers to understand?
Basically this looks like it's only available through the Sync phone and the BlackJack.
This is a good offer. I won't switch because I don't want DSL because my Cable is faster. before you guys knock it, realize that even if you won't use it, some people will get it and this is great for them. Not for everyone, though. Requires:
Two-year wireless agreement with purchase of the SYNC phone by Samsung, exclusively available through AT&T wireless, or the BlackJack phone by Samsung with qualifying data plan plus a Music Kit/Card.
OR
Add AT&T Yahoo!(R) High Speed Internet service (Express service or higher) or FastAccess(R) DSL Ultra to existing home phone and wireless service with AT&T.
OR
Add the SYNC phone by Samsung, exclusively available through AT&T, formerly Cingular, or the BlackJack phone and any of four qualifying wireless plans with a two-year term, including Cingular Nation, AT&T Unity(SM), Family Talk(R) or an additional Family Talk line, to existing high speed Internet service (AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet or FastAccess DSL) and AT&T home phone service.
Again, not for everyone, but I do have friends that have the blackjack and could benefit for the $25/mo landline offer (for AT&T Unity) and also those that have a family plan.
I wonder how stevie j feels about this in relation to his iphone
This is really cool, except I have neither of the 2 phones you have to have!
I know there is more than 2 phones that play secure wma files. There is probably about 70% of new phones that play wma...
April 1st? Not exactly the best launch date in history.
