You mean, changing its color - adding HDMI - making it run cooler, and adding a larger Hard drive DOESN'T MAKE IT A PS3.
I love how on Engadget, all the Microsoft ball-lickers DOWNRATE the comments put out against 360 in favor of PS3.
I bought my 360 last week saturday (after owning a Xbox and a Ps2 and a PS3) and to be quite honest, IF I'M NOT MAKING MONEY OFF ITS SALES, I could care less who fanboy's what product.
What does bother me is the fact MS released a flawed product and it took 2 revisions (including a bad patch) to make it work right.
When I play Quake 4, my 360 freezes up every now and then - not able to advance to the next loading point.
MEH! No built in High Def drive, No Wifi, No built in power supply. There is not enough difference from the Xbox 360's that are out now. Who is this for anyways?
People that have not bought a xbox 360 yet... I know of at least two people that have been waiting to buy an xbox 360 just so they can get a black one. Hell, if it was the same stats they would still wait for it just because its black.

ill bet these are 360 DEV KITS and the "120 gb hdd" sign on the hard drive is a photoshop.
The Dev kit HDD's are bigger (height wise) and if it is a photoshop (unlikely) its a damm good one.
I think it is kind of funny that the pictures almost have identical time stamps on them. He must have been in a hurry when he was taking them. Two different shots have a 10:49 time stamp, and the other two have a 10:50 time stamp.
Well, maybe that person didn't have minutes to spend in taking those spy shots... I'm assuming that this dude didn't want to get caught taking pictures, so this person took some shots really quickly in matter of a couple of seconds...just as about when the 49th minute changed to 50.
It's pretty logical.

I think this could be quite the April fools day for some of my fellow Xbox fan boys.
Caleb, do you know how long a minute is? You can get a lot done in one minute's time. If you can't snap off 4 pictures in less than a minute, you're an idiot (not you personally, I'm just making a point). If I saw this dude took longer than this to take 4 pictures, I'd say he fell asleep or something.
I heard that due to a DST bug there isn't going to be an April Fools day this year...
and Jake, that's a pretty weak attempt at getting a jab in against the Wii60. I'm not even sure what the "Ps3 beats Wii in sales debut" is all about. I'm pretty sure the Wii is trouncing the PS3 for sales all across the board, check VG Charts. Also, no one even attempted to compare the 360 Elite to a PS3 so I'm not sure what point you're trying to make there either. It's pretty easy to tell the 360, the Wii, and the PS3 apart. The 360 and the Wii are the ones that people are actually buying and the PS3 plays Blu-Ray movies and does some game stuff too sometimes.
My cousin's have a WII - that piece of junk is merely a quick fix solution to get Nintendo into the 7th generation console war. The technology of the Wii is the weakest compared to the PS3 and the 360 and its obvious that once its hype wears out, Nintendo will be left trying to think of the next big solution while PS3 and Xbox 360 are pumping out killer apps.
WII doesn't even have a killer app.
I will never buy a nintendo product ever again.

Loban, Xbox is huge in U.S. but the European numbers just came out and Ps3 broke sales record of Wii in Europe. Jake, you do realise there was a hideous shortage of units available at Launch here? I know myself and at least 5 friends who wanted one from day 0 and couldn't get hold of one for love nor money.
Hell, even my friends with Pre-orders had to wait 2 weeks to get theirs in the end.
Sales figures are all good and dandy if the manufacturer can supply all their customers at launch; you still can't get hold of a Wii here in the UK unless you do some serious waiting or detective work - I'll bet the PS3 after several months of market presence will not be selling out as quick as it's Japanese brother.
Let's wait a fiscal quarter before we start throwing sales figures around, yes?

These pics seem legit, save for the fact that they dont manufacture them with the hard drive attached. it comes separate from the console.
Not really digging the flat black.....some of it should have been a glossy black.

as an employee in the UK gaming industry, i can confirm that MS is tweaking the 360 and taking the opportunity to 'tweak' the internal components,and increase the 'options' for display output? thats all for now
It's called sarcasm, and it's in response to all the Engadget haters who constantly talk about how Engadget only covers useless Apple news like the latest Apple TV hack. Yet, here we have Engadget covering news on the 360, a Microsoft product (the anti-Apple.. right?), which could be considered by many to be a non-news item as well since it has been confirmed that the new 360 is in production.

Cos the N64 didn't have half a dozen colours, and there werent red, blue, yellow and silver ps2s. You can legitimately say M$ released a poor 360 to get it out the door early, but leave the colour thing out of it, complain about the spec boost ripping of loyal early adopters(I do feel slightly ripped off, but not the colour change, which likely is just a limited run and looks nasty.
