Probably written by the same European US-Haters who just want to make us look bad at every turn.
They fail to take into account the SIZE of the US vs those other nations. Try comparing California to Sweden... I think the result will be obvious.
Infrastructure will vary from state-to-state depending on population density. Major states like New York and California will take the cake, while middle-american states like the Dakotas barely register.
Yeah right. Let's just call any critics USA haters, especially if they're Europeans. Let's cry foul even if it's obvious that you aint got no clue about the methology, actual findings, data used aso. Let's ignore any and all findings that do not blindly glorify the US and it's achievements. Let's not learn instead and let's not think about what could be improved. Let's ignore that various other researches came to similar conclusions (e.g. http://www.govtech.net/magazine/channel_story.php/104255 ).
But hey, here's a little balm on your wounded US patriot soul. Another research, that came to the conclusion that the US IS the most innovative nation. But you better sit down now cos *shock!* it's been done by a FRENCH research group: http://www.worldbusinesslive.com/Article/625441/the-worlds-top-innovators/

I wouldn't say that, as only Denmark has higher population density (126/km²) compared to the US (31/km²) of the nordic countries. Sweden has 20/km², Finland 15.5/km² and Norway has the lowest at 12/km². Any explanation to this?
I would say that the lower pop density, the harder and more expensive it is to connect everyone due to greater cost pr capita.
It sure is easier to build a good infastructure in a smal country, however the cost pr capita is greater, and because the US is such large and powerfull market you have a totaly different level of competition between companies.
In Sweden we pay much more tax than the us , between 30 to 50%(on our salaries). Thus the government have more money to build a good infastructure (pr capita again). Due to the fact that Sweden is such a small country, the politics in the US would never work here, and the other way around. This makes the two countries totaly different, and quite hard to compare.
