There was a concerted effort in my county, Dona Ana, against the tax as well. Dona Ana is bearing by far the greatest tax load compared to Sierra and Otero, so I kinda doubt a vote of "no" in either of those two counties would be a real show-stopper.

I'm glad it passed, southern New Mexico needs something to make the region more productive.
