We've had our fair share of Zune gripes lately, but there's nothing not to love here: you can pick up one of those new pink Zune models now at Amazon, instead of waiting for the promised May release date. You know the drill by now, we're sure. $250, "limited run" of 100k, doubleshot casing won't save your life but it doesn't look bad neither.[Via Zune Scene]

Merely saying that Europe on the whole seems fairly unimpressed by the Zune, from what I've guaged in various public gadget forums.
I'm from London, and I want the Zune, alot.
I've already had a 5th Gen iPod, and now I want to try something different, and my friends have the same opinions. Also, people on public forums tend to stear towards the item with the higher reputation, rather than what just makes sense.
I've found that people who frequent gadget forums are usually far more critical than the general public because they're clued in more.
I hope this is not what we'll get when those Microsoft officials come to my shool o talk about Vista and Office 2007...

At least, that's what I got when they came to my school to launch .NET all those years ago (free WinXP Pro and free .NET)

Actually, that's a good idea. The problem is that they already have Archos over there, which makes pretty nice mp3 players, and Apple has been advertising like crazy in France even though European officials aren't too fond of Apple.
Not sure about the sales over there though.

well, until I can use it with a Mac, there's not much point to a Zune for me, no matter what color it comes in
wake me when the Digital Rights Restrictions go, plays anything but Microsoft video formats natively and does FLAC and Ogg Vorbis. And supports disk mode like every other player/recorder on earth.
Hype-to-results ratio, as usual with any Microsoft product, is way outta proportion. If anyone else made it it would be long forgotten.
