HOLLY SHIEEEEEET this guy is pro!
FAKE, Look at the sneaker against the housing of the monitor!! FALSO!!
That is incredible control and movement. Got any more information on the project? (the read link only goes to the video)
BTW
What's with all the extra shadow that dances AROUND the shoe when it moves?
Its because it was done by green screening the leg that was used to make the shoe dance. The lighting wasn't done very well so the dark areas on the leg didn't get completely filtered out. Essentially if that guy had stuck his arm out next to his monitor while the shoe was dancing part of his arm would have disappeared behind the green leg.
I dont care how fake that is, its cool!
amazing what you can do on a mac these days ;) (yeah Imovie, shake and some imagination)
If this was done on a mac, i can't wait to see how much better it looks when its done on Windows.
yeah, cause macs arnt used primarily for video and compositing these days, you dumb shit.
lol what a silly thing to say
shut up windows sucks when it comes to being creative.
"I can't wait to see how much better it looks when it is done on linux (Autodesk Inferno)"
LOL!!!
Well, unless you take into account for what programs the author used to make the 3D shoe. Most are Windows-only, so I wouldn't be surprised if they used both platforms to make this. Like at our college, yes, editing is mainly Mac. But for 3D animation we all use Windows.
"yeah, cause macs arnt used primarily for video and compositing these days"
They aren't.......................
actually 'WE' all dont, I use a mac for maya and shake so :p lol
Looks like a guy in a blue screen suit with an old shoe on...
Well idiot, the shoe is not 3d animated, it is a guy filmed in a blue or green screen suit (except for the shoe)and that video is overlaid on the main video.
Don't know why you need the idiot in there, but that would indeed save a lot of time. However, then, care to explain how you can see inside the shoe at certain points of the video if a keyed leg is inside it?
OH MAN! i want two!!!! then maybe this white boy would be able to dance hahahha. still who cares if its fake still a great video
Aren't those the shoes the Marty McFly used in Back to the Future?
I don't mean to be negative to Steve's Army but what the hell does a Mac have to do with this USB powered dancing shoe?
Are you all THAT whipped? That all you can think about is your mac?
I don't mind mac's at all but I'm not going to give up girls my life and job just to have his baby like you all are...
Anyways, cool shoes. Ha
you mac haters are the worst.
the initial comment was "amazing what you can do on a mac these days ;)"
translation: "this is obviously fake"
or: "amazing that some kid with a $1200 macbook and Final Cut can do what used to be pretty high end video trickery"
the real problem here are you anti-apple trolls (NielsJanssen) trying to turn every damn mention of a mac into a flame war. get over it.
about this video: very fun, obviously greenscreen, but creative. :)
it IS amazing what just some kid with final cut can do these days, including fool Engadget, if only for a minute.
(if you windows trolls want to pretend that was another Apple Fanboy-ism, knock yourself out. you obviously have nothing else to do.)
I agree with Anthony.
"Wow, let's make this and everything else we ever talk about a conversation about how awesome Macs are."
Seriously. Where did that initial "Macs are great" comment even come from? Thanks for inserting random flame- and troll-bait into an otherwise on-topic discussion.
ANYWAY, this is cool. Some shoe company might do well to hire this guy for their marketing. Or at least persuade him (read: give him money) to let them use this idea for their shoes.
Footloose?
fix the crap engadget, i click on the "2" link and a page with no comments appears
AMAZING! (well done)
