RC Pirate ship with working cannon lets you rule the pool
Lifeguards beware: the stakes have been raised. This RC pirate ship would be way cooler if the cannon actually fired something, but those landlubbers in the shallow end don't know that you're unarmed. A switch on the waterproof transmitter triggers what is sure to be a terrifying light and sound display from speakers hidden in the 18-inch hull, and when you're done looting whatever booty you can find, the twin screws all but guarantee a swift retreat from that bruiser middle schooler trying to wreck your summer.

Yar! Propellers on a pirate ship matey!?? Nay! Yaaarrrrr! Gimme a diminutive square-rigger armed with ye olde airsoft cannon and I'll broadside yer granny! Yar!
gurn @ Apr 20th 2007 6:39PM
i agree with the airsoft gun, but if there isn't any propellers then youll be hard pressed to get to your target and run away too

Sean @ Apr 20th 2007 6:57PM
That. Is. Awesome.
Rob @ Apr 20th 2007 7:09PM
Hey,.. what you're describing is NOT a working cannon. (oooh ahhh,.. a blinking light inside that canon tube)
Once again, Engadget titles do not accurately represent what the post is about.
rp @ Apr 20th 2007 7:24PM
Yeah, that's a pretty safe idea.. Have miniature shot and gunpowder floating around the kiddie pool. It's a kids/young adult/suave and sophisticated older adult RC toy, not a weapon. Stop bashing Engadget for terrible reasons, hater.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!
Rob @ Apr 20th 2007 7:36PM
Oh come on,.. I never said it had to be shotgun or anything. I was just expecting to see someone attach an airsoft gun to a RC pirate ship when I clicked on the link. And besides,.. what the heck is this doing on Engadget anyways? There's nothing special about this. Don't get me wrong,.. I'm a fan of Engadget, but even you have to admit this has no place on a technology blog.
Dave @ Apr 20th 2007 7:37PM
Ha! You can spot the wankers by the backwards flag: If the wind pushes the sails forward, which way does the pennant go?
Kev50027 @ Apr 20th 2007 7:39PM
THIS IS NOT GADGET NEWS.
Engadget usually posts stuff about technology, not remote control toys for kids.
John Doe @ Apr 21st 2007 3:33AM
Kev get bent. Look up the definition of what a gadget is. People like you go around and hate everything. Don't like it? Go create your own damn blog. Jackass.

So where's the Ninja vessel? You need Ninja's if you want to stage a real battle...
Pabblo @ Apr 20th 2007 7:54PM
Guaranteed pee in the pool
NickF @ Apr 20th 2007 8:47PM
Pirates: ALL YOUR POOL ARE BELONG TO US!
Pool-Dwellers: Lets see how you're cannons fair against THE KRAKEN! (a kid with some pool noodles)
Honestly, this sounds fun, they should get in cahoots with Disney and make Johny Depp plastic dolls to command the ship.

what would be cool...if this thing appeared and disappeared in a self-made FOG. Then you'd be out at the lake, chillin at dusk and you say to the folks "What's that coming out of the evening mist? Come on rock this boat with real technology. Can it play books-on-tape nice and loud. I wouldnt mind hearing some ghostly seagoing tales.
Andrew H. @ Apr 21st 2007 12:22AM
shiver me timbers!
Joel @ Apr 21st 2007 6:31AM
mmmm... Jackass!

With a little modding (this is Engadget after all), perhaps this pirate ship could engage in high seas combat with some real r/c naval combat boats:

Yarrr!

I picked up one of these for under $40:

Pretty sure it's the same thing. It's pretty fun and goes fast! However, it does seem to take on water in the bilge somehow, so you have to come ashore for draining and recharging... arrr... (we call it raping and pillaging to keep the land lubbers at bay).

My wife made the mistake of buying this worthless piece of crap.It would be a rip off at any price over a buck.
