AT&T goes easy on world travelers with new data plans

Tired of getting back from an email-happy jaunt in Europe, only to discover that your next AT&T bill is in the four figures? Heck, who isn't? The carrier is giving folks just a little bit of a break by starting to offer 20MB of global data for a $25 fee on its Smartphone Connect and PDA Connect plans, a rather significant discount over the wallet-draining rates typically seen overseas. And if you still manage to go over (20MB isn't a heck of a lot, after all), overage rates will run just $5/MB in "popular destinations" including much of Asia and Western Europe. Cheap? Not by domestic standards, but still better than $15 or $20 per megabyte.
