Apple "not going to enter a public debate with Fred Anderson"
In a remarkably candid and defensive statement issued today by key members of Apple's board of directors (including Eric Schmidt and Al Gore -- heard of 'em?), apparently, "We are not going to enter into a public debate with Fred Anderson or his lawyer." It goes on to say:"Steve Jobs cooperated fully with Apple's independent investigation and with the government's investigation of stock option grants at Apple. The SEC investigated the matter thoroughly and its complaint speaks for itself, in terms of what it says, what it does not say, who it charges, and who it does not charge. We have complete confidence in the conclusions of Apple's independent investigation, and in Steve's integrity and his ability to lead Apple."
Kind of sounds like Steve just wrote it on his iPhone and sent it on over, right? Anywho, no real updates from the SEC since yesterday's allegations that Steve was behind the whole backdating scandal, but it looks like Cupertino Co. are getting off without sanctions and Jobs still lies in legal limbo for the time being, despite Apple's wholehearted support of their Jobs-in-Chief.

He's already hiding the fact that he has an illegitimate son and he's a closet dweller. What else is behind those incredibly ugly facial hairs?
I've never seen someone look more like a Buffalo.

It woudln't be the first time he has lied for personal gain... Take a walk back to the 70's when Jobs was working for Atari, he screwed over the Woz!

If this were Microsoft, we would have our very own US Government all over it, making huge and exaggerated claims. And anyways Google and Apple?, could things get any worse?

If this is true,I'd tend to go along the lines of Random Thoughts, but I'd sure make it clear that the attempt to put this onto the fall guys and girls (if true)is unacceptable. Public apology & renumeration by steve-o.
It won't happen, but it'd be poetic justice.

RandomThoughts, spot on. I am an AAPL shareholder. I want the SEC to shut the case and move along because all the SEC is currenly doing is hurting AAPLs stock price and thereby us shareholders. If they were to drag Jobs into some legal battle or even force him to resign from AAPL, the damage would be a hundred times greater than anything Jobs could or could not have done.
The SECs job is to protect shareholders and as such it should move on.
I accept that these somewhat slimy deals were at the time practiced in many companies who thought nothing of it. Now that everyone knows it's not legal, it's not going to happen again at Apple. There is not a company in the world more intent on having squeaky clean legal dealings than Apple, believe me. Why? Because they get sued for anything and everything. Constantly.

Sure let him off scott free the CEO of United healthcare did the same thing and he was forced to resign. he knew what he was doing too just got gready and took money from the share holders.. punish JOBS too.

The iPhone's price and shipping time are what I am care. The thing about Fred Anderson and Steve Jobs is not so important. ;-)
