George Foreman busts out the iGrill... for reals
The clever folks at ThinkGeek may have beaten him to the punch with their April Fool's Day edition iGrill, but it seems that George Foreman isn't one to let a good branding go unused, trotting out his own iGrill that's very, very real. Unlike TG's USB-powered faux device, however, Foreman's iGrill is a full-fledged indoor/outdoor BBQ, with a 200 square inch nonstick grilling surface and an adjustable temperature control probe. Garnering it the "i" designation is the BBQ's integrated 10W speaker system and USB port/dock, which will accommodate your iPod or other MP3 player to let you pump out some tunes as you grill. If that sounds like your idea of an "instant party," you can get your iGrill now right for $150 from the leanest, meanest store around, Linens N Things.[Thanks, Galley]

I smell a lawsuit...

Phil Perman @ Apr 25th 2007 6:59PM
Its almost as if they've completely forgotten that the i originally stood for internet

I think George and his team need to work on fixing their current line of grills to where they work...well..like a grill. I don't know how familiar you are with the "Foreman," but I own one, and I've used plenty others, and George really needs to work on an even heating surface, quality measurable settings for heat, etc. The indoor grill thing was a good idea, but when you start talking about an outdoor grill, you'll have a hard time finding a buyer's market if you can't get the grill to work like a real grill.

Squirrels-
You ain't buying a Viking grill, man. It's 150 bucks...
robwebster @ Apr 25th 2007 7:13PM
I just want to note that the asparagai still have their grocery store rubber bands on them. That would probably taste pretty bad.
r @ Apr 25th 2007 7:29PM
Actually that prosciutto or bacon... quite a common way to wrap asparagus. (and rubber bands aren't that big)
Oliver M @ Apr 25th 2007 7:14PM
Does it have PS3 functionality?
Jesse S @ Apr 25th 2007 7:14PM
$150 for a grill and speakers...I'll pass. Sorry, but good speakers cost more than that.
Then again, it is for an ipod, so it's not like it matters much.
Kaido @ Apr 25th 2007 7:18PM
@ Squirrels - I agree. The new grills with removable plates are crap, I'm returned mine and kept my old 1-piece grills.
Davandron @ Apr 25th 2007 7:24PM
They just slapped a pair of speakers on the old George Foreman Outdoor Grill. My parents gave me their old one in ~2001 because they never used it. Here is what it looked like: http://www.amazon.com/George-Foreman-GGR50B-Indoor-Outdoor/dp/B00004W499

For the same thing, only cheaper and with with less "suck", head over to Big Lots (or any other discount store) and buy a cheap Weber-style charcoal grill and a semi-OK set of desktop computer speakers. Done.
derek @ Apr 25th 2007 7:34PM
there is something you are forgetting.... this is the iGRILL!!!
Dirkus @ Apr 25th 2007 8:05PM
True, I forgot to add one can of White gloss krylon. :)
h0mi @ Apr 25th 2007 7:53PM
Nice that this is indoor & outdoor, whereas that weber wont work so well indoors.
bruth-am @ Apr 25th 2007 8:02PM
now THATS an innovation.....burn all your useless iPods on a grill.
kingofwale @ Apr 25th 2007 8:51PM
you can't sue them for having "i" in front of it.. but if it was called FormanPOD, I bet Apple will definite let them feel the burn.. pun intended.
too bad it looks ugly and too small for any kind of BBQ.

Internet addicts with widening wastelines used to be bothered to rise from their PC's so they could snag bites to eat - BUT NO MORE...
The Engineering Student @ Apr 25th 2007 9:32PM
mmmm... this makes me want to grill out. u guys wanna come over for some steak?
Martez @ Apr 25th 2007 9:38PM
It's ACTUALLY called the iGrill? Wow.
Danger @ Apr 25th 2007 10:41PM
Yeah, i'm opting to use my normal gas grill and a stereo, just like i have for the last decade, it seems to work well, and 10w cannot tick off the neighbors.

Galley @ Apr 25th 2007 11:22PM
WooHoo, my first submitted tip!
I dunno about you, but I'd rather not have my iPod covered in meat drippings. That may make it even more tasty delicious to the neighbor's dog.
Murc @ Apr 26th 2007 12:53AM
hmmm.
looks like you can take the top off of it and you have a good lookin bar stool.
Question - Is this electric? or Charcoal? or Propane?
I wish there was some innovation in charcoal grills...everyone knows meat cooked on a charcoal grill tastes better...but its a pain in the ass cause you have to baby sit it while it cooks...and propane is less messy...and you dont have to baby sit it. So I which Mr. Millionaire Foreman would try a little innovation in his outdoor grill....the iGrill will bomb.
jundoc @ Apr 26th 2007 1:28AM
does it come in white?
Darren Wilson @ Apr 26th 2007 9:01AM
Make it ten times bigger and I might consider one! Would take all week to cook the amount of food to feed the amount of people we have round to one of our BBQ's!!!!!!!
Marc @ Apr 26th 2007 7:41PM
I saw this at Bergner's back in September. The outdoor BBQ grill at least, so it's not that big of a leap.
yaya1st @ Apr 28th 2007 7:57AM
有型,也只是有型……

Ummm... this is strange but in an episode of the nickelodeon tv show "Drake and Josh" theres actually a parody of the George Foreman grill called the Gary Coleman grill and one of its bonuses is that it has and internal MP3 player. Odd coincedence? Or maybe everyone wishes to really listen to music while grilling.
