Zune gets limited edition Adult Swim version

For all those Venture Brothers, Aqua Teen, Sea Lab, Harvey Birdman, and Robot Chicken nerds whose hearts just skipped a beat, steel yourself. While Microsoft is indeed producing a limited edition Adult Swim version of the Zune, when we say it's limited edition, we mean it: only 500 are being made, and will be given away at a Turner promotional event tonight. Obviously these units will have pre-loaded content, including photos, music, and, naturally, such classic shows as Assy McGee, Metalocalypse (rawk), and even a new program titled Lucy, Daughter of the Devil (on screen). Now if only we could get Microsoft to continue making Zunes with new colors and etchings, surely that will distract us all from the fact that they haven't actually done anything to improve the platform since launch (or launched any new devices, for that matter).

I can't say much about the "discussion" going on since frankly, I don't now a buncha about it since I've never owned an iPod (enough of them are out there already!) nor a Zune (I've actually seen someone with one before... it's so... lame XP).

I have an Archos 604 Wi-Fi.... sure it's kinda heavy and big-ish.... but I think it's beautiful! =]

But the idea of a limited edition Adult Swim anything is pretty cool to me. *shrug*

I dunno, call me a fanboy if you want, but I just don't understand why the Zune is the whipping boy for iPod fans. I have no problem with iPods, hell, I bought 4 of them over the years for myself and as gifts. It's a fine platform. I hate iTunes and eventually nixed it in favor of something else, but the hardware was good enough.
Why all the hate? The hardware is decent quality, the interface is as good as or better than the iPod's, the music store is as good as or better than iTunes (I do the subscription and download whatever I want) and the support is outstanding. Video playback is solid and battery time is good as well. In the end, the only disappointment is WiFi, and it does everything they promised it would do. Don't rang on MS because all your nerd dreams of a web interface and wireless syncing never happened. Keep in mind that a PMP is a device that has to please the customers, the shareholders, the reviewers, the music industries, the RIAA, the FCC, and a bunch of other groups.
If the had made the sharing feature more flexible, the music industry would have them hung out to dry. The Zune is striking out into new territory while the iPod is making small evolutionary changes.
I don't yet know anybody with one and I don't care. I have no dreams of sharing music with people. If I want to recommend a track to someone, I'll tell them the band and title and they can download it from Apple for a buck a track. Big deal. Keep in mind that the Zune and the 360 are part of a bigger initiative for MS. Anyone here have both devices? They mix together quite well and the Zune software allows you to use your PC as a media server. For the time being, you have to transcode your video, but for an early adopter like myself and many other Zune owners it's a small inconvenience.

The Zune... still looks so mythical... since I've never seen it in real life! Only in a review, photo, or video! So far in my whole life, I've spotted over 200 different iPods, one Sansa e200, five Sansa m200, 3 ZEN Vision:Ms, 8 different MuVos, one YP-T9, over 50 PSPs, a COWON A3, 1 ZEN V Plus, 4 ZEN Micros, BUT NO FRIGGIN' ZUNES!!!
