Gefen has been talking up its
wireless USB hub for quite a while now, but it looks like it could now finally be getting closer to a release, with the device making its all-important first appearance on the FCC's website. While
there's not a whole lot to help it stand out from other similar devices, it looks like should get the job done well enough, with a promised 60 foot range and data transfer speeds of up to
70 Mbps, along with four USB 2.0 ports to accommodate your various peripherals. As with other wireless USB devices, however, the pleasure of operating your gadgets from across the room doesn't come cheap, with Gefen currently asking $399 to take your order, although it still isn't giving any indication as to when it'll actually ship.

Useless

For 400 bucks you could by a cheap desktop, slap a wireless card in and transfer at 54 mbps or even go pre-n and make it 300... What a useless purchase this would be.

You can save a few bucks by getting it at Sewell, but at $360 it's still a pretty expensive purchase:

Is wireless USB going to be just like Bluetooth: unreliable and plagued with interoperability issues (since everyone wants to put their own spin on the spec)?

Gefen is Hebrew for grapes/wine!
COINCIDENCE?!?!?!?!?!

Wow.. and I thought Belkin was ripping people off with theirs at around $200. I agree with Mike, that was my first thought too. And with some of the mini motherboards coming out you could even do it for only a slightly larger footprint. And have the option of everything else a tiny PC could do.

Stay away from this company's products. They are making ridiculous profit on the garbage they sell. Not only is it made in china, but they have a huge failure rate. These guys are SERIOUS crooks. They are happy to sell you a 7.00 cable for 90.00. Good luck. Don't forget to shop around before pitching a tent in your pants over any of their stuff.
