Microsoft constantly talk the talk, but never walk the walk. I love the way Apple has the balls to not show the public a product until it completely finished. They stick to their guns. Microsoft on the other hand is well known for demonstrating 50% complete tools which never see the light of day in an actual product. I'd love to see how crazy your business would go if this thing got a virus.
apple had to announce the iphone themselves at that time, otherwise the fcc would have. pretty simple to understand, if you take a second to think. and, i believe ibm was the failing link on the 3ghz g5 problem. to rectifiy it, apple moved to intel to provide faster speeds. not a failure in my book.
2)You are like most people who see videos taken from PDC & WinHEC events, showing cool tools and programs - and then expect all of that glitz & glamour in the released version of the software. What you're not getting is that when Microsoft is showing these features in development, it's exactly that...DEVELOPMENT. Certain features might be pulled from the released OS, for example, so that other software vendors can produce those bits. PDC & WinHEC events are always "future-looking" in regards to products, unless they say "This is shipping now".

Brendan - Two points:
1)How many iPhones are actually in use RIGHT NOW?
