PS3 crime spree, the missing episodes: heist goes awry, witness murdered

'Tis a sad day in society when nearly two months after London showed us all how a crime-free launch is supposed to go that two separate incidents involving a PlayStation 3 left one witness dead and another dazed. In a case of local bartering gone terribly wrong, a crook posing as an interested buyer reportedly snatched a PS3 without paying, and rather than listening to a witness who tried to inject reason, the culprit resorted to stabbing the man to death and darting off with the blood-stained machine. On the other side of the pond, the UK finally did fall victim to console crime, as a crazed robber entered a Blockbuster and demanded a PS3, only to find that the object of his desire was in fact "sold out." Being the bright lad that he obviously was, he hastily decided that settling for an Xbox 360, a handful of games, and a fistful of pounds would have to do. Best of all, the robber was probably able to get in a few rounds of Gears of War before needing to go underground, as the boys in blue were initially dispatched to the wrong store location while the bandit built a solid lead. Strict gun laws over there? Just an honest question, I turn on Radio 1 and here of stabbings quite often.

Could it be that there are just so many shootings in the states that 'trivial' stabbings don't get reported!
GTA:3 is so old school. Someone at engadget should have took a screenshot of GTA:SA.
Poor man, he should have just let the guy take his PS3 as punishment for wasting his money.

How sick and pathetic do you have to be to kill someone with a knife for a video game system?
Reminds me of some video I saw on the net where one asian guy was hunted down by several others with samurai swords and chopping the poor guy up. I think that was because he dated one of the swordguys sister or something. No gun was needed there to do some damage =)
So what have we learned from this lessons boys and girls. Don't fuck with someone robbing a store even if all you are trying to do is talk them down. You have no idea how wacko the dipshit is.
No doubt the man had the best intentions but you simply don't get in someone's way when they are robbing a store. Adrenalin does some really fucky things to a person. Its simply not worth getting your ass killed over a fucking game console. Now another person. Sure. But a material thing? Gah. What a waste.
PS- Now a days you don't even need to cooperate to get killed though. Too many times in the last few years have I seen news of someone robbing a store, robbing someone ,and the victim did everything they were told to do and they still were shot\stabbed\etc. IMHO humanity sucks ass in general.

In an age where violence is glorified and play-acted, those who are out of their minds already are more likely to kill you than ever before. They don't want witnesses, so they kill you so you can't report them. Escalating petty larceny to first degree murder is really all the rage these days. Perhaps to us regular folks, games like GTA are just a fun outlet for aggression (though I can't play FPS games due to motion sickness issues), but for those whose minds are already broken, they just fuel the fire further. Most people are decent, but it takes only one psycho with a desire for what you have, and that ends that!
