MICRODIA launches 16GB SDHC card, your pocketbook weeps for shame
We knew it was only a matter of time before we had 16GB of SDHC goodness staring us down across the internets, just daring us to make the first move, but we just didn't know it would be so soon -- and so expensive. Apparently MICRODIA is prepping a range of SDHC memory to be launched in Japan this month, including a pair of what sound to be the world's first 16GB cards. They're all aimed pretty squarely at performance, with 4 and 8GB Class 4 52x cards; 4, 8 and 16GB Class 4 82x cards; and 4, 8 and 16GB Class 6 160x cards. The latter will cost you dearly, with the Class 6 16GB SDHC pictured above selling for a whoppin' $3,500. When you put it that way, our collection of 4GB SDHC is treating us just fine, thankyouverymuch.

LAMO! I can get 2 of each of the next gen consoles for that 3.5k knot and a nice cache of games to boot! Oh, and throw in an iPhone for good measure ;^)...
LMAO...
Class 6 is the DMA compatible stuff?
I want one, just to stick in my ipaq 2215, just to mess with it O_o. I'm sure it'd spit the dummy or some such, but it'd be fun. wow. Imagine buying one of these today for that much and then 2 years down the road looking back.... hah.
OK, I have come to the conclusion that if I avoid buying any flash memory for another ten years, I will have saved a lot of money, but more importantly, in ten years I believe that flash memory storage will have surpassed the Terabyte level.
lawl look up the "IBM Millipede". that's 1TB/in^2
Ha ha, to quote Dr. House "The flames make me look like I'm going fast." I thought of that when I saw this card.
Go early adopters, go! The more that spend this absurd amount the quicker these things will come down in price to a reasonable level.
Hum Let's see I could buy this for $3,500 or just buy 4 4gb sd cards for $70 each hum what to choose what to choose.
This is just like the joker who paid $9.3 million for 'the official General Lee' when he could have rescued his own '69 charger from just about any junk yard in the country and built his own for about $60,000.
Way to use those general funds for a good purpose, yeah?
You can't put a price on Bo & Luke Duke ass marks on the door of a car. He's probably jumping in and out of the REAL General Lee's windows as we speak. THAT'S GENUINE BABY!
ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3,500.00 for a pece of plastic....um NO! Okay, it' not just plastic, but I'm sure there isn't 3500.00 in Materials either, in a year.....199.00 since the 8GB Transcend is only 99.00 at Fry's.
Have Fun shelfing these for a year or so Microdia...
Faslane
I'm buying ten of these instead of a house.
I just bought an 8GB SDHC on newegg for $75. Ha! $3,500?! WTF!
Who the h*llwant this ?? 3500 go fish !!
There is no real General Lee. They got through atleast 2 per episodes cracked them in half. There is actually a shortage on 1969 Dodge Chargers because they destroyed so many. In fact some of them used were 1970s and 1971s as they couldn't find any more 1969s for filming.
And I have fact checked in case anyone wants to argue with me.
Dang, I don't want to argue with a person who has a PhD in General Leeology!
Oh them Dukes!
I would have bought this card if it weren't for them meddlin' Duke boys!
