NES-playin' Taiwanese smartphone comes gamepad-equipped
Oh my -- we're fallin' in love. Our always-inventive pals in Taiwan have developed a "PDA Phone" called the Century Sutra 1688 that comes complete with a gamepad controller (not Bluetooth, darn) and an NES emulation system. If you're fond of "Super Mario Brothers" and "The Legend of Zelda" from the NES craziness of the 80s, you'd probably hand over a month's paycheck for one of these beauties just to take a trip down memory lane. We know we would. The gamepad for Windows Mobile isn't exactly a new concept, but add in NES emulation -- even though there are a ton of portable NES emulators out there -- and we're sold.

Just NES? :( How about SNES and GBA? ;-)

Only NES games? How about C64 games? Come on, everyone knows that C64 games were better! :p
I was gonna say what about SNES as well, but Admiral got there first!

I've been able to do this for years now on my PSP, GBA, Dreamcast, PC, and Treo.

Not quite -- I have a 3650 and there's just not enough memory for VSun -- very disappointing, but then again the 3650 just isn't laid out for involved gaming. I don't know what my next cell will be, but I want something I can have a little fun with, maybe something Windows Mobile...

SNES, GBA gets demanding
only the X50v can do near fullspeed SNES emulation and a good bit of GBA and PSX emulation with the intel 2700g
do bad I can't get something this
I'm stuck with having to get the generic bluetooth gamepad that's been rebranded over and over

Wait a minute, this is a Chinese low-end product that's published in Phonedaily.com.tw! The report praised its 1500 games included in the CD (100% pirated NES / GB / GBA games ROM), but the quality of the camera is a big question mark. As far as the phone goes, not even many Chinese dare to try it given its low quality (and life).

This phone was originally reviewed and published from Phonedaily.com.tw http://www.phonedaily.com/news/?news_id=5679
This phone is actually "invented"!! by people in China, not Taiwan...
Of course all the games were pirated... and the phone quality is not high

According to a 'Pocket PC Thoughts' post (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/index.php?action=expand,55125&/watch_out_for_those_fake_windows_mobile_phones.htm) it is a fake Windows Mobile phone. It's unclear what OS is on the phone.

So where can I buy this?...
Davie @ May 9th 2007 1:16PM
ALSO...this is a SNES emulator folks :) I've read quite a few articles on this job when I googled it, and all of them say SNES emulator, not the 8-bit emulator.
