Teclast T39: first 16GB flash PMP?
Following up on its fairly eye-catching T19 and T29 PMPs of years past (mainly last year), Chinese manufacturer Teclast has taken the lid off its upcoming, sequentially-named T39 -- whose main claim to fame is that it could well be the first flash-based media player to hit 16GB of storage (feel free to shoot down that assertion in the comments). For those not willing to pay what will likely be a premium for such a capacious device, the 2.6-inch T39 will also come in 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB flavors, all of which support MP3, WMA, WAV, FLAC, AVI, and WMV files. With an FM tuner, electronic dictionary (though not in English, we're suspecting), and some kind of games on board as well, it sounds like this one could be a real winner when and if it ever hits the States; as of now, though,we don't have much more than a few specs and pics, so don't go blending your nano just yet.

Another Cowon D2?
Is it just me or does the playback UI look strikingly similar to the Cowon D2's?
Yes, they're definitely taking a page from the D2. Hence the use of touchscreen too. I pointed that out at DAPreview.
That's the first thing I noticed... I think I'll stick with my D2 + 16Gb SDHC and later with a Q5 :)
Didn't the page for the updated Meizu MiniOne also include pricing for a 16gb version?
I wonder whether this player will be 2x8gb nano-ish pricing, or 16gb ssd pricing...
no, only 4GB and 8GB
I don't know about this device, but the name makes me nostalgic.... Ah the old Ericsson days..
I just had a look for the translated forum page here:
http://www.meizu.com/bbs/dispbbs.asp?boardID=22&ID=505281&page=1
If you scroll down, it says "4GB 2000" "8GB 3000" "16GB 3500"
Not saying it's definitely right, but if Teclast are saying they'll do it, and Meizu *might*, then we could see a big jump in 16gb flash pmps, even if they are all being sold in Asia...
upper left corner, right below the logo, is it me or does it say "double-core" ?
Yes, but you will regret saying that when the 'wannabe' makers of 'cheap' Chinese DAPs who can't 'think/innovate' unite and take over the world with 'filmsy [sic] like pieces of plastic glued together'.
I highly doubt sound quality will be the first thing on your mind then.
Despite what you say, these "Chinese DAP wannabes" are actually pretty good. I had one that lasted me 2 years. Then I got a PSP. My classmates at school use them too- the ones that don't have iPods, that is (nano ripoffs- all the looks with more features than the real thing and cheaper too- because I don't actually need 4GB of space). But, I live in China (I go to an international school, though) - it's sort of expected to try using one of these things if you come here. Remember- don't think that everyone wants Apple (or Creative, and the Zune isn't out here yet)- I'm perfectly content with my PSP (and my cellphone is just as easy to play music with- buy and unlocked Toshiba and you'll see what I mean).
Oh come on
like pieces of plastic glued together?
Tell me how can I put TELECHIP TCC8200 and WOLFSON WM8978G together by using plastic glued?
I don't know of anywhere you can get any of Teclast's products except for eBay. I got all excited about the C280 and learned my lesson then.
If anyone knows where to get Teclast products, please post here. Thanks.
Teclast? Tech Last? Strange name.
Anyone know why the password ***refused*** to auto-enter for this otherwise fine website, in Safari? I always have to manually look up my password and enter it in the field above, despite Remember Me being checked, or remember to manually approve the comment when the website mails me about it. It's a really bad situation that i'd like to see the website owners address. It's like the page is set to keep the password from being saved.

Yes! T39 not only available in ebay, I brought one in www.i-yotta.com at USD 119.9. There is no shipment fee. It is the lowest pries I found. The product is great and good quality, I love it very much.
