Motorola RAZR 2 hands-on
Well, it's finally here, the RAZR 2, proper sequel to the Motorola RAZR, one of the best-selling cellphones of all time. This newb's got big shoes to fill, but at least in its GSM / EDGE and CDMA variants it's 2mm smaller (sorry HSDPA fans, it's the same thickness for that flavor of 3G). For fans of the RAZR form factor, though, this is what you've been waiting for: two huge, crisp QVGA screens, Moto's JUIX Java Linux platform, 3G, HTML browser, the works. All that's yet to be seen is the price and carriers; we're guessing somewhere in the range of $500, like where the original RAZR debuted. (Also, we did spot Alltel and T-Mobile up in here.) We've got plenty of gallery shots to indulge yourself with, so enjoy.

Next month is the month that people will begin to ask why they have been putting up with crappy phones for so long. Next month will make history, the iPhone is near us.
at&t love
Everyone is forgetting that whatever kind of interface this will have, absolutely pales in comparison in the iPhone.
Apple is the _ONLY_ company to develope a mobile browser that is actually useful and fully functional, except for maybe the N800...But the N800 isn't a phone/is far larger.
Yawn!!! C'mon Moto!!! Apple raises the bar and you come out with more of the same old, same old?
Meh. Happy with Ultra Edition Sammys Thank you very much.
the ultra edition samsungs suck their flimsy and crap feeling and get bad reception
Not sure which Ultra you're using Nick, but my 9.9 has been tough as nails and wonderful RF wise considering it's 850mhz deficiency.
Verizon is still going to shove their horrible software on it.
I've had my razr for at least 3 years. I've replaced the battery once (sat on it after getting out of the pool) and it's still going. I've dropped it (several times) and it's not as cheap feeling as the nokias that i started on. .mp3 ringtones, bluetooth, thinnest phone when i bought it, when it came out the web was fast too. My UI is very easy to use but then I don't think i've ever heard of a phone that had a "revolutionary" UI. Perhaps someone can show me what i'm missing?
I don't know why everyone is ragging on it it's served me quite well. But then that was before they started mass producing them and putting them in the hands of every abusive 12 year old.
I've also noticed that everyone that beats up on the razr never mentions what phone they use.
It looks good but i want more smartphone features so for this go-round i'll be looking at the z8
All you people who say the Razr sucks are retarded the razar 2 looks amazing the specs are pretty good the reason why nokia sold so many 1000's is because it was cheap but nokia sucks and samsung sucks i've had both of those companies phones and they could hold up after 4 months i've had a razr for a year now nothing has screwed up on it and it's easy to use. Ohh and iphone don't get me started on it ps apple stick with what you know best which is pc's and MP3 players iphone is horribly over priced and horribly impracticable and useless motorola is pioneering the cell phone world unlike nokia and samusung which make these horrible looking plastic tupperware phones that are stupidly designed or a rip off of another companies designs like the crappy samsung razar hey samsung stop stealing other companies designs and come up with your own.
Oh lord.. when will the Razr die??!?!? I'm so sick of these phones. Just yesterday, someone was trying to compare their Razr to my n95.. can you believe it? When I shot them down, they tried this "yeah, well its better that that one.. (Pointing to my 6682 which is used for my business calls.) Uhhh, no... try again...
Everywhere I go... razr this and krzr that and ... lord Im so sick of those phones. They're no better than those free samsung flips you get from your carrier... Get over it already, they're ugly, poor on features and just plain not worth it.
Gotta agree with the post above mine, they are ulgy by todays standards, that's why there is now the Dolce & Gabbana Edition Razor. LOL
Bottem line is these phones are for those that do not know or understand the unlocked market. Those people think that this phone is stylish, of course they might have seen a pic of the IPhone, but not the Prada. They dont' know what else is out there and are content with that.
Sorry, but I have to be the first to say it. $500 for a RAZR makes the iPhone look a lot more reasonable.

You're not the first to say it.
The iPhone will sell out in about 2 days. That in itself means it's not too expensive.
Those people think that this phone is stylish, of course they might have seen a pic of the IPhone, but not the Prada.

Okay, to anyone not aware, you can get an iPhone-esque phont designed by Prada for $1000 or get the real thing for $500.
Happy?
First of all I've confirmed it, the razr sucks. Mine is falling apart. The lcd screen is leaking lcd screen juice, the motorola logo fell off the top of the phone where your ear goes, both the little rubber footies from the flip portion have managed to disapeer, the buttons are falling apart, and now I think there is a bad electrical connection between the flip and the keypad that turns my screen nothing but white.
On top of all this what could have been a great phone is horribly crippled by verizons shitty ass software. I don't know what to do I can't really leave verizon my whole family, gf, all my friends, and everyone else I know uses verizon. You can't buy a decent CDMA handset from anywhere. Leaving me with verizons shitty phone offerings and the absolute worst phone operating system of all time.
