Nuvo Wino infrared wine thermometer sports retractable sensor
There's no shortage of gadgetry designed to keep your wine legit and chilled, but the Nuvo Vino infrared thermometer is hitting the market to ensure that your pre-drink rambling doesn't lead to you drinking an overly warm glass. The simplistic device sports a retractable sensor that purportedly measures the exact temperature of the wine itself, and there's plenty of accompanying documentation to inform you of what perfect degree you should look for before indulging. As expected, it also features a fairly attractive motif in order to catch the eye of the affluent, but until they add built-in aural cues that blurt out whether or not your beverage is ideal, we'll hold onto our $49.95.

I only care if it is one temperature:
COLD
Nothing in this world is perfect, why should I care about a specific temp for wine. And just who decides what is the right temp anyway?

Your nose and taste buds! Just out of curiosity, are you British or Irish?
------------------------
Things taste different at different temperatures. Too hot or too cold, and you lose some delicate flavors and aromas. It takes much time and training to become a good taster. Then again, not everyone is born with the same potential for taste and smell. All in all, it's all about appreciation and love for food and drink.
This product looks O.K., but not for those who already own a similar device. At first I thought that it could measure the temperature on the wine inside the bottle, without uncorking. What if my Sauvignon Blanc is too warm? I'm supposed to put it back in the fridge?

Or, you could just NOT be a twat and drink it however you like, instead of listening to some uppity wine "connoiseur" tell you what and how you should be drinking.

You could listen to what the Grapedonk at http://www.wineass.com tells you to drink. But I'm pretty sure he doesn't count as a connoisseur.

I love wine and Logik is right, things do taste differently at different temperatures.
But that doesn't mean I need a $50 gizmo to tell when the "perfect" temp of my wine is. I have a $3 thermometer in my wine fridge :)

All of you (except Logik and Eurlist) can continue to drink your Coke the American Way while the rest of us will profit from the better things in life...
I mean, if you can't appreciate something, no matter the reason, why should you care?
Don't want to be mean, but had to be a little rude, sorry pals, I respect all of you nonetheless ;)

Nice! Can it be used rectally too, or just for wine? Always looking for value!

Is this thing compatible with wine-in-the-box?
