Educational games sought for OLPC
We knew this was only a matter of time -- OLPC people are on the lookout for educational video games to plant on their laptops when they land later this year. We're not sure Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego and Oregon Trail are really going to translate, and as much as we'd expect to see Doom officially on the platform, it seems they're looking for new titles that could presumably be easily localized, and take advantage of the OLPC's mesh networking. If you and your code junkie pals want to try your hand, join up at the OLPC game jam at Olin College on June 8th. Grand prize: an OLPC. Hey, at the speed that thing's price is rising you might actually make back some cash on it.

If you are a child living in poverty, I think pc gaming is the last thing you should be worried about.
The OLPC's should be at the most, used for access to the local wifi intranet for educational purposes only.
My question is, can an OLPC be used for Wijacking and wifi hacking? If so, I'll buy one, paint it black and use it for my nefarious purposes.

Hmm. $100 fee (not just for the contest, but still a cost). Prize: a hundred dollar laptop. Hmm.

okey it will be simple... just get a gba emulator for linux (isn't there one already) and they will have a truck load of roms on line....GO POKEMON! and since the games are light on the processor, plus they have special gaming buttons on the folding screen, it will be fun! GO POKEMON! okey i am bit too poke-ed, but GO POKEMON! (goes crazy)

Sigh... that screen is just screaming to be broken off. Playskool should have designed it.
