Nokia N75 and N76 now available -- from Nokia USA
For a company that tends to concentrate on candybars and the occasional slider for its smartphone stable, a double shot of S60 flips in the American market is pretty much a bumper crop -- and that's exactly what Nokia's delivering, officially announcing its own availability of the N75 and the N76 today. Notice we say "its own" availability; the N75 has been livin' it up in AT&T's lineup for a few weeks now but it's been nigh impossible to get one contract-free from the carrier, so Nokia's direct sale is a welcome one for folks that just want to buy one outright. Side by side, the N76 solidly whips its stablemate in the looks department, but bear in mind one critical fact: US-usable 3G data lurks underneath the N75's hood. Pick up the N75 for $429.99 and the N76 for $499.99 starting today from Nokia (including the flagship stores in New York and Chicago) and its distributors.

does this mean it will also be available subsidized w/ a contract from a US carrier?
You can already get the N75 from at&t subsidized w/contract.
As for the N76, you might be able to get it subsidized from an indirect dealer.
Just a question, besides the N75 having compatible 3G in the US,what are the differences between the two phones?Which one is better to have?
N75 runs regular s60v3, has a 220 mhz processor.
N76 runs s60v3 feature pack 1 and has a 369 mhz processor and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, but poor battery life.
N75 - US market UMTS
N76 - Euro-spec UMTS
i cant imagine the battery life being any worse on the n76 than it is on the n75...a day at best for me
you can get a N73 for that price. They really aren't worth the money.
actually i would disagree, the things you can do with these devices make them well worth the money. especially considering you can get an n75 for as little as $99 depending on the market you're in...you can hide all the crappy at&t apps and put your own apps in the main menu...very much worth the money
Here's my video review of the N75 (I also discuss the N76): http://tnkgrl.wordpress.com/2007/05/29/nokia-n75-video-review/
According to sources, the N76 and N75 aren't in the Flagship stores as of yet. The first variant of the N75 to hit the Flagship store will be the Cingular branded N75.
To clarify, the N75 runs at 3G speeds, but the N76 does not? Does the N76 run Edge only?
I was pretty excited about the N76 news... until I scrolled down, saw the DoCoMo F904i post and began to sob.
Wont the 6290 have a faster CPU and cost less?
ooh gosh nokias are soo expensive
wow you know nothing. you disgrace the hamby name
Hopefully it is better than the regular Razr.
I NEED TO KNOW WHICH ONE HAS THE LOUDEST AND CLEAREST SOUNDING RINGTONES.........THE N75, OR THE N76, OR THE 6555 ?
