Nokia N75 and N76 now available -- from Nokia USA
For a company that tends to concentrate on candybars and the occasional slider for its smartphone stable, a double shot of S60 flips in the American market is pretty much a bumper crop -- and that's exactly what Nokia's delivering, officially announcing its own availability of the N75 and the N76 today. Notice we say "its own" availability; the N75 has been livin' it up in AT&T's lineup for a few weeks now but it's been nigh impossible to get one contract-free from the carrier, so Nokia's direct sale is a welcome one for folks that just want to buy one outright. Side by side, the N76 solidly whips its stablemate in the looks department, but bear in mind one critical fact: US-usable 3G data lurks underneath the N75's hood. Pick up the N75 for $429.99 and the N76 for $499.99 starting today from Nokia (including the flagship stores in New York and Chicago) and its distributors.

EVERYTHING wants to be a RAZR.
N75 has 3G for the US, 850mhz and 1900mhz
N76 works on euro 3G networks only, 2100mhz
ok time to have a contest for the red one, its beautiful... actually lets just skip the contest and you just send it to me? pretty pleaseeeeeeeeee
Nokia just does not know how to make flip phones, their engineers made horrible software and usability design choices.
Just a question, besides the N75 having compatible 3G in the US,what are the differences between the two phones?Which one is better to have?
I personally think the N76, although with a faster processor, is designed for the fashion minded buyers.
N76 lacks the (now pretty much common) A2DP support, which really stinks, I still can't find a replacement for my RokrE6...
forgot to mention the below average battery life of N76 (no need to blame nokia, the phone is slim) and the N76 is equipped with a fast processor and a 2.4 inch main screen.
I think Nokia should've made the N76 a candy-bar touch-screen device with a slightly bigger (or same) screen
I don't really get why the N76 and N75 are separate designs - the N76 is in person one of the sexiest phones I've seen. Suppose there's a reason for it somewhere.
so, they copied the razr and made it even more ugly than the original? I thought the razr looked bad enough as it was..
I actually think this is a somewhat fresh design - the ubiquitous razr is now the norm, this is different in its own way and i actually find it aesthetically pleasing. Probably more stable than Moto stuff...
Don't get me wrong - i love my krzr k1m but this looks different and i wouldnt mind carrying one.
they didn't copy the razr they copied the sanyo katana... although probably not intentionally hahahaha. i have an n75. i digging it. except its pretty bulbous. if WCDMA is not a selling point for you get the N76. if it is (like me), get an N75. even tho its just UMTS (not HSDPA), i still notice a huge improvement over EDGE.. especially with latency...
other difference is the Freescale CPU in the N76 which has a higher clockspeed. but as you should know, with S60 clockspeed seems to have very little correlation with actual device performance. the N95 (which uses the new TI processor with 3D acceleration) has a UI, for example, that is slower than N75's.
N75 is my first S60 9.1 phone. to be honest i found it less than advertised. i often miss winmo's clean menu structure and "professional" attitude.
on the other hand S60 has more multimedia things built-in that are just plain awesome... like ability to take a picture and upload it to flickr directly.. resize... even edit video.
there you go. it turned into a mini-review. if u want multimedia functionality and a solid 2.0 mp camera pick one of these phones up.
P.S. in low light nokia's 2.0 mp Toshiba sensor becomes REALLY noisy. easy way to fix this is to set it to NightTime Portrait mode. this increases exposure time by a bit but dark pics turn out well.
Here's my video review of the N75 (I also discuss the N76): http://tnkgrl.wordpress.com/2007/05/29/nokia-n75-video-review/

I think the original poster jumped the gun on this one. I stopped in at the Nokia flagship in Chicago today and they did NOT have the N75 or N76. He said it "may be as soon as a month" before they have them. Granted the guy may have been playing dumb, but still. I
"occasional slider" Are you kidding me??? I wish Nokia makes more sliders. The company rarely makes sliders. There are way more flips... -_-" Go check the website if you don't believe me.
