Zip Zip offers up USB flash drives within Lego blocks
We're not particularly sure if Lego is actually getting a cut on these newfangled USB flash drives, but an Australian firm is offering up said storage options within Lego blocks nonetheless. The Zip Zip Memory Bricks will be available in black, white, red, blue, green, and yellow here shortly, and all house 1GB of storage and sport USB 2.0 connectivity. Additionally, a nifty lanyard allows you to attach your new 31- x 15- x 10-millimeter drive to your key ring, and while the A$59 ($48) pricetag may seem a tad high for just 1,024MB, you know the diehards can't resist picking this up to go alongside their Lego LaCie HDD.

A nice security feature is to drop it into the kids' Lego collections.

If I get that, my brother will probably mix it up with his logeos and my teacher won't believe my story when I tell her that I lost my thumbdrive in my brother's lego collection.

Site states "LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group of companies which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse this site"
Zip Zip should expect a lawsuit from Lego anytime soon.

Seriously that is asking for trouble, I can already imagine trying to search for a red Lego bricks among millions, only to find it embedded in a technicolored 16 wheeled Lego monster truck from Hell...

Lego stuffed with flash drives...stuffed into a Lobster stuffed with Tacos...
When was the last time you could build anything with flash drives?
-or interface Lego with your computer?
I salute anyone doing either.

Ever hear of the LEGO Mindstorms kits? They interface with your computer (or most bluetooth devices too).

Hmm, $50 for less than a gig? buy.com has a $27 gig stick with $25 rebate making it less than $3 for a gig. Good luck lego crap.

The real genius here is being able to build a Lego toy and keep it on your desk without anyone knowing you have a usb drive with your personal data on it. Then again as long as your kid (or nephew) doesn't come in and play with your Lego boat in the bathtub. Ooops!! Just have to cut that cord off so it is well hidden.
drtekger @ May 31st 2007 10:39PM
would be nice if I could stack them up in order to raise the capacity. 3 lego sticks together for 3 gigs of pr0n, YES
Aaron @ Jun 1st 2007 12:00AM
It'd be way cooler if it actually fit with LEGOs.
