Tamagotchi movie to prove whether kids really will watch anything
Sure, we all feared this day might come, and while we had certainly hoped that the ten-year anniversary would mark the close of a craze that should have never happened, it looks like Bandai is going to milk this thing one more time. Of course, we saw new life in Tamagotchi land earlier this year, but in a new movie set to debut this December, several of the Tamagotchi characters will be thrilling youngsters and annoying parents by "befriending a human girl who shows up at their virtual home on a star." The animated picture will be distributed by Toho Company, and while we're not certain if this flick will actually make it to US soil, let's hope for all of our sakes that it stays fairly contained.

Man, I remember when these stupid things took my school by storm. I was fortunate enough not to ever want one. Ban Bandai and hope they dai.
Bandai makes many GOOD things though, like Gundam models. I really would rather them not dai.
I have fond memories of owning (pwning?) one. It was a fun gadget in an extremely geeky asian way.
wow its really been ten years...i still remeber these in middle school.
Ahhh, the good old days, when the worst you had to worry about when you kid got near a computer was if she forgot to water her virtual dog.
Aww... Tamagotchis were all the rage, certain colors and styles went for hundreds on eBay as collectibles. Since I have a rare, clear blue tamagotchi, I was keeping mine boxed.
I did take it out and bring it to the office for a few weeks. I was sneaking Tamogotchi sessions underneath the table during meetings, making sure it was well-fed, happy, and "poo free."
Glad to see I'm not the only one with fond memories of a tamogotchi.
...and I did go to see Pokemon: The Movie when it first came out. My wife thought I was a little nuts, so I used her niece as a pretext. Her niece is 18 now. Going to see Tamagotchi: The Movie might be a little harder.
I remember these...but I was always more into the nano-fighters and digimon. They were all amusing for how young I was and they were like portable games. Seeing that the gameboy's back then were still pretty big and bulky.
Makes me want to go find my gray brick and play some old school nintendo...
Can you say... "straight to video"?
Is that a Burberry tablecloth? Luxury.
