While of late we've seemed a bit partial to the
ultraportable end of the spectrum, it's hard not to give props to the complete, unadulterated power and gargantuan-ocity of
Falcon's new Fragbook DRX. In addition to the boring stuff like a Core 2 Duo Extreme X6800 2.93GHz processor, 4GB of RAM and a 17-inch 1920 x 1200 LCD, the "laptop" packs a 100GB 7200RPM HDD <em>in addition to two 160GB 5400RPM drives, and really ices the cake with the dual NVIDIA GeForce 7950GTX Go 512MB graphics cards. Other minor details include 802.11n WiFi, a built-in TV tuner and a 8x dual-layer DVD burner. Sadly, the one hour of battery life, 12.1 pound heft and $7687 won't endear this puppy to the mainstream, but would the gamer elite really have it any other way?

No dx10 support? That's a shame.
1 hr battery life? lol bet thats it sitting idle. i reckon about 15mins of gaming time haha
I almost didn't see the "r" in "Fragbook"
A price tag that's just under $8000? Yikes...
Who will buy this?
It would melt through your legs in less than 10 minutes.
Maybe if it were a P4 Notebook (My Hypersonic GX7 idles at 54C... P4 3.4 HT EE), but it's a C2D notebook. I'm sure it doesn't run that hot either - It's a Falcon, so I would assume that they thought out proper cooling for the C2D and the graphics cards. But... I think a review would be in order to tell the full story. Falcon, want to send me one? For, er... review?
You forgot 'Ugly' ;-)
since when was 12.1 lbs not portable? are you a two pound weakling who has a blackberry tattooed to your forehead?
I'm sure it comes in other colors, but sure looks good to me...
send me one as a trial, I need to see if it can handle the things my company does.
aren't laptops supposed to be portable??? i dont get it... its practically useless and way overpriced for the power...
a shuttle with opteron64 and 22" widescreen... less $$ for more bang, and possibly just as portable seeing as both are tied to your desk unless you really want to move it...
It's yet another Clevo D900C rebrand. That config can be had from RJTech from well under $3000.
I have this notebook, it is s
so good..sorry my battery died mid sentence.
that really made me laugh. Well done :P
At least the colour scheme matches my Dodge Ram 3500, which I'll need to lug this thing around. :)
It's ideal for people who want a portable desktop, for example, people who travel a lot and like to game (ie. you have more than one home). There is no way you could easily carry around a desktop but this is like a portable desktop. It weights 5.5 KG and has a 1hr battery life so you're not going to want to take it everywhere and use it like a laptop.
If I had more than one home, I'm sure I could buy a good gaming desktop for each one and still pay a lot less than 8k.
I hate it when companies just rename laptops and resell them for ultra profits! This laptop has been around for quite some time! This is just a SEVERLY overpriced Sager NP9260 SLI laptop.
Don't believe me? check out the link, it's the exact same laptop, just renamed.

Another rebranded, and in this case, repainted, Clevo D900C
way too overpriced people, check out the ones manufactured by Sager as the 9260 at PCToque.com
idk, you beat within the minute, but again it's Clevo's laptop model
Sager-Midern and Falcon just make their own, Sager much more affordable
also, very importantly, SagerNotebooks is just another Sager reseller, not the company themselves
PCToque and PowerNotebook are much better Sager resellers
the chassis design is nearly identical to my Alienware Aurora m7700. the only difference i can see is the media buttons up front. AW includes an LED display. I bet the lid design is different though
The case looks identical to my Area 51 7700 a few years back…and that thing is a home PC w/ a 17 in. LCD duct taped to the top! Yea, it’s portable, but you can forget playing any games other than Solitaire or Tetris on the battery life and even then you are running at half speed. I would also bet any amount of money on the validity of the 1 hour part of the battery life…maybe if it just sat there running no apps!!
Like Yoda said, NO, there is another :P lol
