"We need a digital camera that can be switched on and fire off that first shot fast. It's not a commonly tracked statistic on any review site, and nobody seems to have this information for every camera. We were hoping other readers could inform us as to what small digital cameras can fire off their first pics in under a second (ideally under half a second). It needs to be small, but mostly, just really quick in operation. Thanks!"
I got one at Sharper Image a few months ago. Works great, and doesn't get hot like incandescent and FL bulbs do. AIm it where you want and you get some pretty bright light. I have mine aimed at a white wall, where the light is diffused through the room more. Used that way, it's not too bright (it's right beside my computer), and not too dim, and when I ned a little more light, it's just an arm's length away and easy to re-aim. It looks pretty darn cool too.
He Who Might Get Another One Or Two For Other Rooms Soon.
I've bought about 3 LED lights (1 from Koncept). The the only lamp I really liked is the last one I got. The EcoLight by IMG Lighting is reasonably priced at around $100, tons of brightness at 600 lux, and has this cool feature with dual white and warm LEDs so the light isn't so harsh. Its really the best light I've owned, that includes the regular incandescent and CFLs. Its got these nice touch sensors that means there are no moving parts on the light. No break (Koncept's buttons break as is evident from my personal experience and from this thread others).
I'll get another IMG Lighting for my other room. Its really bright and light it puts out is crisp but also warm too (makes a big difference using it for a long time, koncept was too blue in color). The IMG Lighting lamp just works.
