Computex is over but we couldn't just walk away without giving you a peep at this Bluetooth keypad from Darfon. The idea here is simple yet blissfully absurd: wear the device as a lanyard to dial calls while your cellphone remains tucked away in your man-bag or she-sack. We're apparently supposed to overlook the fact that it's about the same size as your cellphone. Hey Darfon, meet Palm -- we hear that they share your interest in superfluous "companion" devices.
Hey, thats a great way to make pick-pockets who have stolen the device frustrated when they notice they don't have the phone itself and still need to get one with bluetooth...
Man, if there was only some way to put the keypad on the phone and still make it smaller than that lanyard. Preposterous, the phone would need to be slim, slim like a razor blade in fact! Well, hopefully our continued work on these newfangled portable telephonic contraptions will develop something.
I thnk it's a great idea as well. Not every number you want to dial is available for dial by voice services. I wonder if it interacts with a bluetooth headset as well???
“Apart from the fact that it's got a bit of infamy to outgrow, the old model was a pretty sharp-looking handset and the Storm2 refines that look in all the right ways.”
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
Is that a screen? For the love of God, why?
In the UK, you see a lot of people wearing their cellphones around their necks anyway.

You mean tucked away in your she-bags or man-sack.
That's really not a bad idea. The keypad will always be the same, irregardless of what phone you have, and what phone you upgrade to.
