It's been a while since we last heard any news about the
HP MediaSmart Server, but it was quite nice to finally get acquainted with the thing in person. (The last time we
played with it, we didn't really get to play with it.) As with so many devices, it's hard to express how small it is (at in comparison to how large we expected it to be), but it was still a pre-production sample -- so the drive sleds didn't come out, nor did the plastics all stay fastened properly. Still, here's yet another we're machine forward to checking out when it's released later this year. (For those that want to check out Windows Home Server now,
get in on the beta.)

What happened to the grammar checker? Doesn't anyone take the time to proof read their postings before they submit anymore? The world is moving so damn fast, and everyone has to be 'first!' Please take the time to at least make your statements make sense. I had to read the last sentence three times before I got the meaning of what you were trying to say.

In reality .. Who really gives a crap about spelling and grammar ? I want to know about new products as soon as info is available ... Why did you waste your life by commenting about spelling and grammar ???

because, had the OP at least read what they were about to post, they would have fixed the jumbled sentence and I wouldn't have had to re-read it a few times to understand what they were trying to communicate. It may have added 10-15 seconds to their OP so it would have still gotten you the information your looking for in a timely manner.

It's true, that was a terribly written article and it wasn't just the last sentence that was incorrect.
On another note, don't double post!
Skiffington @ Jun 15th 2007 11:15AM
Just because two people are stupid does not nullify the fact that the first is still an idiot. On top of that the writer of the article is a PAID PROFESSIONAL. The double-poster is just an amateur idiot.
On a more important note I also wish the writer would have written more about the server. I think these are going to be sweet. I’m planning on putting at least 3 tb in one of these bad boys.
Chris Rabe @ Jun 15th 2007 11:19AM
Hope it has a couple of TB or else my music library won't fit...
McGinley @ Jun 15th 2007 12:12PM
Yeah right.I have 232 gb of music and that would take me 5 months solid listening to get through.Do you honestly have upwards of 5 times that amount?
Yolee @ Jun 16th 2007 6:26AM
I hope so too! I am a audio/videophile and have approximately 3 TB of movies, music and photos due to digitizing everything over the years. i am starting to convert my VHS tapes along with old lp's and 45's to mp3 format. I am not going to even attempt digitizing my old 8 tracks and reel-to-reel stuff.
I probably have almost every format of video/audio available (old and new). It's quite a hobby for me.

They sent him a pre-production unit so he could snap a couple crappy photo's and then take pictures of a few screens with a camera? Wow, I want a high-traffic blog.
