HD DVD and Blu-ray releases on June 19th, 2007

Wow, talk about a slow week. One movie between the two formats, but it isn't just HD formats that are in a drought, new releases for DVDs are pretty much non-existent this week as well. The one and only title this week is from Disney and part of the same series that brought us the Chronicles of Narnia. The Bridge to Terabithia actually has a better IMDB rating than chronicles at 7.5, uses AVC and includes a lossless PCM surround track, all on a BD50 disc. Don't worry HD DVD fans, you only have to wait one more week before one of the biggest weeks in the format's history when 17 new titles come out next Tuesday.HD DVD 223 vs Blu-ray 255.

Not that it matters that much, but Bridge to Tarabithia has absolutely no connection to The Chronicles of Narnia, other than that both were produced by Disney. Simply FYI.
Wow.....that's some "war" they've got going there....
I'm not sure if you saw it, but Nada was a great movie! How it did not win picture of the year beats me!

Looks like Blu-ray has lost the war. If you watch 1 movie in a day, thats around 22 hours of watching nada. As you can see, you spend much more time watching nada so hd-dvd releases win this week.
Bridge to Tarabithia was very bright and colorful but I think all the background details were blurry, unclear and/or just not focused in on.
I like hi def for the extra details shown in the scene while this had a nice picture the details just werent there
