Samsung's colorful line of YP-U3 DAPs now available
If you've been waiting anxiously for more details in regard to an actual ship date for Samsung's Yepp YP-U3, it looks like your wait is up. Of course, you've already had ample time to familiarize yourself with the feature list (except for the recently noted voice recording option) and even squash the envy that likely took over after someone got their grubby fingers on this thing before you, but Samsung's USB'd portable audio player can finally be yours. Apparently, it'll be showing up in black, white, green, blue, and pink, and while white earbuds look to be your only option unless you're picking up the black (surprised?), at least you can select from 1GB, 2GB, or 4GB models.

Cue the "huh, there are gadgets in that photo?" in 3... 2... 1...
the male commenters on Engadget are so typical, when they see a gorgeous looking Asian woman, following comments will be made:
1. Screw the [Insert Gadget Here], how much for that lady?
2. I will buy the [Insert Gadget Here], if it comes with that lady.
3. I will move to [Insert Country Name Here] and marry her.
4. and so on ...
(#1 will be my choice)
You are so spot on this topic, it's amazing. It took me about five minutes to notice there was a batch of mp3 players in the photo. I glanced at the players for five seconds and went back to looking at the Korean model. Maybe the mp3 players should be designed like little Korean model dolls. I say import the Korean models and to heck with the mp3 players.
huh, there are gadgets in that photo? what gadgets?
Are the Koreans genetically capable of doing anyting original?
White may be the only earbud option other than the black model, but they have at least colour matched those little rings.
Anyway, replace the black with orange and hey presto, shuffle colours.
Hardly surprising.
My response to YEPP: NOPE
i want to marry her. ;P
Wow... that looks... just like a generic usb-stick! Except for the SonicStage software and lack of voice recording (which I would never use anyway), I much prefer my Sony NW-E015FB player. It's slick, great battery life, even better sound quality, and it actually displays album art. I even sold my 8GB iPod Nano.
Some of the Samsung stuff surprises me (both good and bad).
asianphiles unite
'Kay, honestly, as a Korean-American guy, I can attest to the fact that there are plenty of Korean (to not speak of Asians) women who are more attractive than these 'gadget girls'. Your standards for what passes as "gorgeous" saddens me.
sorry to change the subject off of the girls, but anyone know where these (that is the U3 units) are being sold?
re: livingdots "Are the Koreans genetically capable of doing anyting original?"
mate! if they keep producin' hot chicks like this, stuff originality baby!
I looked at the DAPs first. Does that make me a gadgetphile instead if an asianphile or what? (The DAPs) look like a nice basic player.
definitely needs more plastic surgery

Unfortunately this YP-U3 doesn't work on XP whatever edition and what ever servicepack.
I tried:
XP Home SP1
XP Home SP2 and all available updates
XP PRO SP2,
but no no no.
Where to find drivers????
Mine works fine under XP (Pro SP2).
I can sync it via XP Media Player, or via drag and drop. (Doesn't works as an USB drive, but it's fine).
Has a nice sound quality also (even with the stock earbuds).
