Rock Band Stratocaster controller revealed
It's always comforting to put a face to a name, and for those who have been raucously awaiting more details on the elusive Rock Band controller, dig in. According to a purported GameStop newsletter, the ten-button axe does indeed favor a Fender Stratocaster, and while the frets appear fairly subtle head-on, those looking down on the device will notice the colorful labels (shown after the jump) that they've grown used to. Additionally, the tidbit also divulged that the instrument "would allow players to manipulate sound through reverb, flange, wah, delay and more," but there was no mention of the presumably lofty pricetag that this thing would eventually sport. Looks like the Fender fanboys will soon be able to really duel it out with the Gibson purists, eh?

!!!
*Wets pants with excitement*
As they say on MTV cribs:
BALLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AS said on Chapelle Show:
This is the ballin'est shit EVER!
Really man..really?
Sorry, just sick of Dave Chappelle popping up in the most unnecessary places.
IMO though, I like the look of this more than the Guitar Hero controllers, it doesn't look like a toy. But I personally love Gibson's guitars more than Fender, especially the strat. Everybody and their grandmother has a damn Fender Stratocaster.
I saw Dave Chappelle skateboarding down Market St two days ago, in San Francisco.
Where do you plug it in?
Dave: UN, you have a problem with that? You know what you should do? You should sanction me. Sanction me with your army. Oh!! Wait a minute! You don't have an army! I guess that means you need to shut the fuck up! That's what I'd do if I don't no army. I would shut the fuck up. [speaks each word into a different microphone] Shut. The. Fuck. Up!! That's right!
Redneck moron.
Oops, appears he was born in Washington DC. My apologies to all rednecks....
Instead of spending money on this it seems one would be better rewarded just learning how to play the guitar.

yeah, step on up little boy, you doing anything about it is as real as the comic.
If you must know, I have an Ibanez RG270 which I just got restringed and am learning on. Has been sitting in my closet for years and I never would have picked it up if Guitar Hero didn't peak my interest in electric guitar :P
good then, my work here is done!
I'm especially liking the colored labels on the side of the buttons; makes the controller look more like a guitar and less like a plaything.
Lol @ Joe...
That last bit was classic!
"[speaks each word into a different microphone] Shut. The. Fuck. Up!! That's right!"
who needs that, when... u can do the real thing! but cool anyway
Hey, looks like there are a set of buttons higher up on the neck too.. 'cuz playing those face-melter solos just don't seem right way down on the first fret.
Those fret buttons are MADE for meedlies.
I would imagine those higher buttons do make it easier to play the faster bits. The frets are closer there (as they are on a real guitar), and therefore the fingers have to be less spread out, and get less tired.
...an' 'den, da Cheat, he come on his keyboards....
I want... Will go with my real Fender Strat :P
Yeah, but when does my '80s Fender jazz bass get it's Guitar hero digs? where's the bass in rock band?
I read they were going to force me to share with the guitarist. a guitar is not a bass, and it has never been. it's not a rock band without that big bottom end, either. If any of the devs are reading this,Fix it. now. you'll make me very happy.
