Yes, some of our Apple 17" PowerBooks are having this exact same issue and Apple isn't even admitting the problem. We can talk about it in Apple Discussions http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=967815 under one thread, but the moment someone posts a link to a website about the problem, like http://www.crosspond.com/apple/hall_of_shame/1 - the topic gets deleted. We cannot afford to be replacing all these screens, and Apple does nothing and admits nothing. Truly disappointing, since one of these machines came fully loaded at around $3K and the other one very well-loaded at $2K.
