That
wireless USB hub you peeked this morning was just the calm before the storm, as
Gefen has now unveiled a smorgasbord of HD converters, extenders, and other accessories that you just can't do without. Up first is the $249 Component + Digital Audio to HDMI Adapter, which pipes that recently one-upped component and Toslink connection into a single
HDMI cable. Next, it looks like Gefen is expanding its
PVR lineup with an HD iteration that supports HDMI and is capable of recording HDCP-compliant sources in
1080p. Moving on, you'll find a 4x4 HDMI CAT5 Matrix to string your HDMI signals along up to 200-feet using vanilla CAT5 cabling, and the $399 Component Audio Extender enables nearly any audio source to be transferred 330-feet away over Ethernet. Last (but certainly not least), the $699 Wireless HDMI Extender delivers a plug 'n play method of extending HDMI signals up to 33-feet over the air with no loss in quality. Unsurprisingly, Gefen's latest niche convenience products won't enter your AV system without a premium, so be sure and avoid the gallery below if you're already being negatively tempted to pick something up.

Not much to look at now, but this is going to be real sweet in the next two years. Not having to have my equipment near the tv sweet! Having my computer monitor across the way, sweet!
How long before someone taps into the wireless signal and cracks HDCP?
Or has HDCP already been cracked?
What do you think the whole deal with the hexadecimal code was? It allowed people to see their movies without having HDCP compliant hardware. Although technically, it wasn't cracked per say, just simply opened with the key that the companies left in the lock.
That's not HDCP. That's AACS. They defeated the AACS code, so the player didn't use HDCP when it outputted the video, therefore making it possible to play on a non-HDCP display.
so does this mean that i can have one media set up in the living room and stream over lets say the ps3 signal to another TV in the house?
If I'm not one of the Homis, does that mean I have to buy the Homir?
Sewell Direct is a company I have worked with for a few years purchasing Gefen Products. My experience has been that they ship fast and on time. The quality is very good with Gefen products and both Gefen and Sewell Direct offer Tech Support if you need any installation help.

That Wireless HDMI Extender sounds awesome!
Vouching for Sewell. They sell Gefen products for a much lower price than anywhere else.
The ability to record HDCP protect signals over an HDMI connection would simply be amazing. Finally, a third-party PVR that can record HDTV signals from a cable box! I wonder what kind of compression they are doing to get those recordings down to a reasonable (10GB/hour) size?
