Turns out last year's
kinda-clunky Alto isn't where
Logitech's laptop-propping agenda comes to a close: today the company is announcing two new stands, the $29 Alto Express, a one-piece clear plastic and rubber laptop stand reminiscent of the iCurve; and the $80 Alto Connect, a slightly more advanced x-shaped stand with a four port USB hub. (Both Altos are available this month, peep the Connect in the gallery below.) Also up: Logitech makes the jump from producing accessories to producing accessories to carry your accessories with its Kinetik bag line. Priced at $100, this September your 15 or 17-inch laptop can sit snugly in an "exo-shell" encased bag from the same people who would also love nothing more than to sell you enough high-margin peripherals to fill its every fold.
pity it'd be awfully inconvenient to use those stands with the macbook pro in the pictures. the optical drive is at the front of the computer, so you'd have to pick it up every time you wanted to put a disc in.
it's a shame, because that clear one is really nice.
Where can we buy the Kinetic bag line when it's out? I don't see anything about it at all on the Logitech site. Thanks!
Sweet! Just what I need. The Alto is way too expensive; the Alto Express makes more sense cost-wise.
If only I came up with this idea for my design project at school...
hey!
it's just like the Axio Hybrid bag...

just cheaper!
I was thinking the same thing Andrew. Logitech isn't really known for their Mac support so I was a little surprised to see them using one in some of these photos.
I think one of those stands might be nice for my tablet, hopefully they'll last a little while anyway. Last logitech product I bought was the first generation of those bluetooth headphones they put out, lasted about 3 weeks.
I like the briefcase but I do hope it will be available with different interior colors. That orange is just a little harsh on the eyes. Otherwise it looks great. I think I'll be getting one.
whats the laptop in the first pic, it looks gorgeous?
Biggest problem with using a Mac on a lot of stands is that the Macbook screen doesn't flip back far enough for you to still have a decent viewing angle.
Saw the Kinetik backpack in NY Times and have been searching for where to buy. Lot's of dead ends. Glad you mentioned that it's not avalible till Sept. Someone notify me when & where when it happens.M Lamb
