DFI P35-T2R motherboard overclocked to the brink
Those with cash to burn and warranties to void need look no further than DFI's forthcoming motherboard, which has apparently reached unparalleled extremes in the overclocking lab. OC guru Oskar-Wu has seemingly reached a "stable" state with an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 processor running on a 640MHz bus speed (or a 2.56GHz rated FSB). Additionally, SiSoftware Sandra test results show the RAM bandwidth capping at 10,089Mbps, although all testing was indeed carried out in "sub-zero temperatures." Unfortunately, it seems like the heatpipe design is holding the board back from mass production, but it shouldn't be too long now before the speed demons in the crowd can get their fix like never before with this here mobo.

Uv On - Tweak Fun!!

DFI are finally using heatpipes? About time, hopefully they can manage a fanless board at last without the tiny fan on the southbridge.
Also, your via link says El Reg, but goes to The Inquirer, just FYI

DFI, can we get a different color scheme? I for one do not care for the Halloween Party theme. It looks like something you would find at an extacy party rave.

Who gives a crap if its in your computer. Don't like it? Don't buy it. The rest will enjoy the overclocking goodness while you enjoy a trendy color scheme with LED lights that attract landing aircraft.

Damn right John Doe! Anyway I love DFI and their boards are expensive yet you really do get what you paid for.

I buy a motherboard based on it's features and specifications. DFI's colour scheme just annoys me, but that would not stop me from buying it if it has what I am looking for. Although if a competitor (i.e. ASUS) offered an identical board without the Halloween party theme, then I would go with them.

DFI have always been the best overclocking boards...Always.

im new to ocing - where can i learn about it
all i know is that u up the FSB anbd sometimes the Vcore to make it stable - looking to oc my E4400 to 3Ghz when it comes

I beg to differ on that one, the built in OC software within the bios alone of current Asus and Abit 965 mobos beat DFI hands down. Not to mention DFI is always late in the running when it comes to mobo design, being last of the better companies to come out with a fanless design, read: heat pipes, (But yes they do have fancy looking boards :))

Replied to the wrong guy :)
www.ocforums.com has lots of members with overclocking experience and some good guides. Probably won't make it to 640 FSB but you may get 3GHz :)

I don't see what the big deal is. Check out http://valid.x86-secret.com/ and you can see GIGABYTE's P35T-DQ6 has already reached 658 MHz. Oh, and you can buy this board already.
andrew @ Aug 15th 2007 11:06PM
658 MHz, thats sweet. I saw this one over at motherboardpro.com .
question. I am building a video editing system. would overclocking the motherboard help with render times?
andrew @ Aug 15th 2007 11:10PM
i hit enter to quick, i had more of a question.
i do want to know if overclocking this motherboard would be good for my video editing rig, but i have seen a lot more over there. just want to know what the consensus is i guess, if it even matters.
