ATI Radeon HD 2400, HD 2600 get reviewed and benchmarked
ATI's new Radeon HD 2400 and HD 2600 series graphics cards might not boast quite the horsepower of the company's top-end HD 2900 XT, but the folks at HotHardware still found quite a bit to like about them, especially considering their budget-friendly prices. They the Radeon HD 2600 XT, 2600 Pro, and 2400 XT, specifically, which all fell pretty much in line with their expectations, providing adequate power for casual gamers, while keeping power consumption and noise to a minimum. Those interested in cranking their games' settings, however, will likely want to look elsewhere. They also found the cards to be particularly well-suited for home theater PCs, with the AVIVO HD video engine giving them a leg up in image quality (although they're still planning to give it some more extensive testing). You'll have to wait a few more weeks to get your hands on them yourself, however, with them set to roll out in mid-July.

...and what does this have to do with the iphone?
durpa durpa durpa. iphone. durpa durpa.
nice! finally not every penny is going to nvidia.
its about time we had some competition!
heck i could buy like 4 of these for the price of the iphone...QUADfire!!!
nVIDIA just gets more publicity
in fact, Systems with HD 2900s in Crossfire regularly win at Overclocking competitions
another review of the 2600 xt is here: http://computershopper.com/reviews/ati_radeon_hd_2600_xt_graphics_card_review
@tyler, I don't see how you can say that when the article clearly shows that that 2600 at best is equal to the 8600, and in most cases has far worse performance
You have to take OEMs into account. No fan, a lot cheaper to manufacture , less wattage and DX10 support. What's not for them to love?
spoit, i can see how he might say that, since every review that i've seen of the hd2900 has shown that it is a better performing card than the 8800. and isn't it cheaper too?
2400HD looks great for HTPC. Full HD offload and 25 watt power consumption. Too bad ATI will probably screw it up with bad drivers.
Meh, slower than the X1950 Pro which goes for around $150 on newegg, so I think this is kind of pointless unless you REALLY want DX10, but then it would probably suck at DX10 anyway. I would rather get a fast DX9 card than a slow DX10 one.
Wow, these cards are pretty bad. I was expecting more from Ati with these cards, but am obviously sorely disappointed. These aren't any better then many of the other mid priced cards already no the market.
the 2900 with the new drivers is better than the 8800gts640mb and beats the 8800gtx is some cases.
looks like ati is taking care of driver issues alot sooner than nvidia did.
Really. Reviews from the big guns like hardocp, show the 2900 about equal to the much cheaper 8800 320MB version with the latest drivers.

"We hoped newer driver revisions would improve performance on the ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT. With the newer driver we used for this evaluation we did not see any “magic” happen when it comes to real world gaming experiences at resolutions at and above 1600x1200. The ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT is not even a match for even the much less expensive and much less power hungry 320 MB GeForce 8800 GTS."
So...
Do the flames on the case help it run faster?
i want it
