Yes, Yes,...IPHONE. My error.
EVERYONE POSTING ABOUT HOW SICK THEY ARE ABOUT THE IPHONE COVERAGE ARE HYPOCRITES!!! Haha, so silly, by posting you're part of it, silly geese!!! I admit it's getting old, but it's the biggest story all year. If you really are sick of it, go to ESPN.COM!! =-P
Yeah Kiwi..
I thought it was funny.. Why would we..?
This apple phone hype is riduclous. This phone is going to clunk after a few months, maybe even weeks. Look at the ipod, they can't even keep that thing working right, its been out so long and the new ones still have the same problems as the old ones do. Not to mention its ONLY a mp3 player. Just think about how their Ipod now has a phone and some other stuff... If the Ipod doesnt work right, what makes you think the phone will????? Phones having itunes okay, ipods having phones... uhh what's wrong with this picture???? Oh right a million things.
What's wrong with iPods?
Other than the fact that you're too cheap to get one.
Hi guys, I'm the one in the picture. There were no reasons cited when he returned it. I kept telling the woman he was with to stop taking pictures, and it was obvious that this was a contrived situation, as JT had known about the restocking fee before he came to me. It's all good though. People gotta make money any way they can.
hey sarah u are Sexier than IPhone. Can I have your phone number. Better be lucky to have yoy rather than I Phone.
All this iPhone craziness is going way too far ... wake up Engadget ... you're like totally obsessed and hypnotized by big Steve : can't you hear the angry mob/readership going sick of it? and please do not mention the useless iphone-less rss feed ... there's nothing else to read.
See you in a few days ...
You have to understand, Apple can't just turn around and put an open product back on the shelf. In fact, since it's been opened and used, it will most likely never end up back on the shelf. It's hard to say what customers might use the product for once they take it home, and then attempt to return it.
Why charge a restocking fee when these are flying off the shelves?
I fail to see how describing her look as "utter shock, confusion, and hurt" can be considered malicious.
I think you're the one that needs to lighten up a bit and stop throwing your iPhone out of your cot.
Hmmm disregard my reply to JT, looks like engadget has assassinated him and all his postings.
thank you for the compliment!
American Express. Call them and say, "It doesn't work, Apple refuses to take it back." Charge back. The END. You money in your pocket.
That won't work for restocking fees.
What's funny is that iPhone checks out, they will refurb that phone at the Apple store for 10% less.
Thats close to the look my girlfriend got when she told a sales lady in a Louis Vuitton store, "Yeah I know its Louis Vuitton, but I just think its ridiculous to pay $750 for a purse made of plastic". From the look on the sales lady's face you would of thought my girlfriend had puked on her shoes. I wish I had had a camera.
Interesting article. Let me get this right...Engadget bought an iPhone for the sore purpose of experimenting and using it while having the full intentions of returning the phone. This can be deemed consumer fraud. People buy and use things all the time and when they are done with them they return the items and only pay a restocking fee of 10% (sometimes)--companies and other consumers pay higher prices because of these unnecessary returns. He got off light---Apple can no longer sell the phone as "new" and will take a financial charge greater than 10%. Engadget not only writes articles that have no journalistic value, but also now relies on creating situations to have stories that revolve around unethical and unmoral practices.
I understand you as making fun of a customer service representative. How old are the editors of Engadget? Any service person when confronted with a problem may get a look, get nervous, or react in many different ways because they must remain professional and sometimes customers will get very nasty with them. The position is very difficult. It is apparent that the writer and the editor never dealt with customers, it's not easy. Just imagine, Joshua Topolsky, if you were confronted by someone taller, wearing dark sunglasses, and with an attitude you would look the same way. Joshua, if you think different, please email me. I'm more than willing to hear your thoughts :-)
Spot on...Really bad show guys. Zero Journalistic merit in this article.
I take it there was another skanky bearded wierdo stood behind you taking the photo's right ? bet you looked like a pair of stalkers coming upto that girl no wonder she looked terrified - probably though 'shi*t, it's the anti-apple engadget guys coming to kick the crap out of everything good and decent...ohh crap maybe they've totally lost it and brought ouzi's "
From her stance I'd say she'd got one finger on the 'alarm button' under the counter...
F@ck You Mike,
The Boy Genius
To imagine that Engadget staff know SO MUCH about the Apple and the iPhone, but did not know anything about the 10% restocking fee! Hahahahahha! It's like you've never bought anything from Apple before!
Restocking fees suck, like this thing wont fly off the shelf in 30 min after being returned.
She looks hot. I'll do her... what store was it from?
Umm, I don't think the Engadget guy was intending on keeping the iPhone...I wanted to buy it to test it out but realized I couldn't afford to give away $54 in re-stocking fee. The Engadget guy knew what he was getting himself into, it's all fun and games.
Anyone that actually plunks down over 500 bucks for an iPhone deserves to loose 60 bucks. We now are in the Electronic Stepford generation.
is he wearing an american apparel shirt?
I believe so.
Who is this guy? he looks like Noah Taylor in Almost Famous (the manager), did he grow that "beard" while waiting in line?

Holy shit! He does!
Poor iPhone :( All it wanted was some love!
stupid retard... waits in line for 10hours just to return in several hours later...
real smart man
Rent?
Food?
More likely the thrill ...was gone. When life returns to normal, one may discover their iPhone is nothing but one more mundane annoyance in the endless stream.
