The definitive iPhone user interface gallery
After getting our hands on the iPhone we set ourselves the irresistible task of photographing every conceivable menu option available to us. So here it is: the definitive iPhone user interface gallery, almost 300 images deep. If you're the type to obsessively pore over every possible menu, submenu, setting, and function in a new device, this one goes out to you.

Interesting subliminal there - mangy half eaten apple with a knife through it's heart...
Xavier Gill @ Jun 30th 2007 8:26AM
No alarms and no surprises
Alex Muller @ Jun 30th 2007 8:31AM
ah, thanks for this! This answers all my questions :)
thanks engadget!
Alan Partridge @ Jun 30th 2007 8:35AM
This is great and all but can you post some more videos? Pictures are so web 1.0!

Can you customize the icons? I dislike the one they picked for "notes". Thanks!
Ike @ Jun 30th 2007 8:45AM
You can't even customize your RiNGTONES. What makes you think that you can customized an iCON ? :-( meh...
ethana2 @ Jul 3rd 2007 5:27PM
I'd go a bit more for customizing, say, the operating system and firmware. Unlocked Linux toutchscree.... oh, wait. Open moko. Suckers.
MikeE @ Jun 30th 2007 8:45AM
According to apple.com EVERY Apple Store still has iPhones...has any1 gone to an Apple Store and have been told that they're sold out? Just wondering...
Roberto @ Jun 30th 2007 8:49AM
Is it true that if you don't activate the phone with AT&T service you won't be able to use neither the iPod functions nor Wi-Fi? Anyone care to give me a heads up on this? Thanks,
carlo @ Jun 30th 2007 12:48PM
yes it is true. you can use NOTHING but an emergency dialer until it's activated.
Paul Levinson @ Jun 30th 2007 8:51AM
was a long time coming - iPhone was predicted in 1979
Pookitane @ Jun 30th 2007 9:33AM
Say, people, i live overseas. Like, too much overseas, in Israel. And I'm pretty sure we'll get the iPhone in 2-3 years from now XD Will it be possible to order one, and then use it here, with my SIM-card? Cause dam, i want it :|
Rohit Kapur @ Jun 30th 2007 9:39AM
Right now, you can't. The iPhone is US only, and it's locked in with AT&T. I'm sure people are working on unlocking it, so wait for a bit. Engadget'll report it if and when it's accomplished.
I myself live in India, and am waiting for it to be unlocked. Cellphone stores here claim that they can unlock the iPhone for Rs.1,000 (25$), but I think they're just going by how they unlock every other phone. Wait for some confirmation to come out.
Here's the link for the article where the shopkeepers claim that they'll be able to unlock the phone (in India).

it just me or all this text black on grey make it dark and unreadable?
darkstar @ Jun 30th 2007 9:44AM
is it comfortable up your ears?
i remember the first blackberry i had was extremely uncomfortable. i would always use a headset.
ZSX @ Jun 30th 2007 9:51AM
I guess some form of screen capture utility is out of the question, but is it possible to explore the file structure of the device yet?
MarkG @ Jun 30th 2007 10:05AM
I wonder if it's a coincidence that the camera icon looks a bit like the BMW logo. As was mentioned on the site recently, BMW have tried hard to make their cars Apple compatible. Payback time?
jilie @ Jun 30th 2007 10:09AM
seem soo, they are linking their ass themselvs
Modano @ Jun 30th 2007 10:53AM
Holy god, I love this thing. This is the future.
ethana2 @ Jul 3rd 2007 5:30PM
It's the past, too, but no one seems to notice that. Again I say, openmoko. And it's unlocked already. The only thing it doesn't have is corporate backing. As far as the rest, I think it's technically superior- maybe a lower resolution screen or something, but really. All these poor people.
BD @ Jun 30th 2007 10:59AM
Hello? Why isn't Engadget reporting on the outrageous activation problems happening to hundreds of people with the worlds worst wireless carrier - AT&T ????
Bob @ Jun 30th 2007 12:01PM
They are just scroll down a bit.
Randall King @ Jun 30th 2007 12:32PM
This gallery is great. I appreciate the work put into it.
I was hoping to see more screens regarding e-mail settings, VPN, and Wi-Fi, specifically these features:
- Does iPhone support 802.1x authentication for Wi-Fi? Can we see more of the screens showing the manual process of adding a Wi-Fi network?
- Does iPhone support SSL for POP, IMAP, and SMTP? Can we see more of the Exchange screens?
- Can we see more of the VPN settings screens?
Thanks again!
Jeff Lewis @ Jun 30th 2007 1:18PM
Thank you!
I'm writing a freeware iPhone-like shell for WM5 and later, and this is EXACTLY what I was looking for! Seriously!
This makes it much easier since the user manual is kind of short on illos...
bruckwine @ Jun 30th 2007 1:54PM
Did someone mention customize? Please - we wouldn't want to crash the iPhone would we (despite a few reports already lol). Fort Knox ain't not anything on this device!
NightBlade @ Jun 30th 2007 2:35PM
These iCons suck. Ugh, probably doesn't even have different themes.
As I've alwasy said - iCrap.
zach @ Jun 30th 2007 4:30PM
Does anybody know if you can put a version of SQL on the iphone...if so can you provide a link or a name for it?
Scott @ Jun 30th 2007 5:48PM
Wow. Sure lost a lot of battery power over the hour and half photo shoot.
nicola @ Jul 1st 2007 4:09AM
Bleah.. fuk ipone,,
MattiaB @ Jul 1st 2007 11:40AM
Hi!
I found a burn pixel on the iPhone's Screen!!!
When the background is grey or white(for an example in the settings)
in the left/bottom of the screen you can see a small balck dot!!!
O_o !!

Different strokes for different folks I guess. They just can't seem to get that thing out the door though. Also seems like a mistake to put "1973" in the name of your tentatively shipping product, homage or not. But I'm certainly no expert. Back to my iPhone! Cheers- Dano
