This may be just me, here, but isn't buying a Dell with Linux pre-installed sort of, I don't know, defeating the purpose of open-source software? I mean, the whole point of the movement is to take power away from the big guys, to get something YOU have more control over....
But here, let me pay dell to put together my system and install the most generic distro there is on it. I mean, granted, Ubuntu is *nix for noobs, but...

I mean, I'm NOT ever ever EVER going to buy a machine with Vista on it. I'd switch to Mac first, and that's not really something I want to do, but IF I were going to go the Linux route, I'd just build my own damn computer.
I could see how that would be tough for a laptop, though. Ahh, well. Life is one big gray area.
