As a consumer I don't want to invest *only* 500 bucks on a system if the company that makes the system is losing so much that it might have to kill its games division in a year.
The phone has 256MB of RAM and a 1GHz processor, which do the job reasonably well, though the Anna interface will likely leave something to be desired for many smartphone users.

So don't buy. They're doomed whether they raise or lower the price anyway:
Lower the price - Oh they lose so much they might kill ps3 ($200 loss per console)
Raise the price - Sony's out of touch. No one's gonna buy it. They'll have to kill ps3 even faster (not sold = $599 loss).
