Furni offers DIY clock kit, kicks off design competition
Design shop Furni has already proven its own clock-making skills, and it's now giving you a chance to hone your own, recently introducing a DIY clock kit and kicking off a clock design competition for some added incentive. While you'll have to provide your own materials to make the clock unique, the $24 kit appears to include all the basics, including a display, a breakout board with the necessary buttons, and a power supply. As for the competition, while there doesn't appear to be any cash prizes involved, the winner could potentially see their creation make it into Furni's next collection, making you the talk of hobbyist clock-makers the world over (we hope you can handle the pressure). Don't dally too long though, as entires have to be submitted by September 1st.

I found this DIY Wall Clock on Amazon:

It's pretty slick looking.
I guess I'll have to head to the zoo to find a turd big enough for those clock guts to fit into. I'm thinking, elephant, hippo or giant gorilla. If I can get a gorilla angry enough, he'll toss one or even two turds at me if I'm lucky.
Sure, they want me to design a clock for them and then not pay me. I pass.
Wait a minute! If I can just pull all the guts out of a $500 iPhone and stick those clock guts in, I should have a sure winner. The iPhone Clock. Brilliant.
if I had the willpower I would totally put one of these in a Dunny , make a cool little dude. but i will not. someone else should.
Absolutely absurd, you are correct. They obviously did not take into consideration the busy lives of high-school-design-class students into consideration. Shame on them; the world will now never know the amazing clock designs that could have stemmed from such a talented and influential demographic. [/sarc]
PS, don't blog-pimp.
Well that's great. I didn't know people could delete their comments... now mine just looks ridiculous.
Oh well.
$24 for those??? LOL. What a ripoff!
Well, instead of shelling out $24 for one set of clock guts, how about spending the same for *five* old Palms on Ebay and wire them up to become one of the most over-powered wall clocks around?

Yeah, I was going to say--why spend $24 when you can drop less than $10 at your local CVS on a clock radio that you can tear the guts out of and stick into whatever you want?
Seems like a sucker-play to me...
