GPNC's 70-inch all-in-one touch-screen PC
We've seen plenty of all-in-one PCs in our time but this 70-inch model from Korea's GPNC is certainly the biggest. Meant for commercial use, it will be produced in both touch-screen and standard LCD models featuring a 1080p capable, 70-inch Samsung LCD with an 8,000:1 contrast, 8-ms response, and 700cd/m2 brightness. No details on trivialities such as PC specs, price or availability unfortunately, so we're bound to hear more on this in the weeks ahead. Hey GPNC, here's s a tip: we recommend taking future product shots without XP error messages if you hope to instill a sense of confidence in your target buying audience.

Haha that is funny with the error message. How did they not catch that?!
L. Cyphre @ Jul 9th 2007 5:06AM
It's probably all just a big sticker anyway.
The true question is: where the HELL is the gorgeous Korean model!?
Joe @ Jul 9th 2007 8:56AM
It also looks horrible... as if it's not running 1900x1080 ick.
Chuckles McGee @ Jul 9th 2007 10:25AM
They had to have the 32 inch screen stand-in for the model...sort of a letdown, the screen has only one of the measurements we've come to adore in the models.
Alex @ Jul 9th 2007 11:02AM
Ok, I forgot to uncheck "E-mail me when someone replies to this
comment" and now I am getting an e-mail reminder when anyone
responds. Does anyone know how to stop this?
L. Cyphre @ Jul 9th 2007 11:32AM
>Alex
You can't.
All is lost.
BWAHAHAHAHA!
Richard Cartwright @ Jul 9th 2007 2:25PM
@ L Cypher- the error message was the female model not being preset of course After all you can't sell tech in Asia without a cute chick in the picture

re: alex
Theres nothing like a gobbledegook error box to prove thats its windows. It's part of the genuine microsoft experience!
Matt @ Jul 9th 2007 6:31AM
So under Vista we would have the WOW (error message) right? Sweet.. I want one.
Miles @ Jul 9th 2007 5:03AM
Figures, windows can't even work right with anything.
This is why we should get rid of Microsoft and Linux.
We need to go with Apple.
Matt @ Jul 9th 2007 6:30AM
Uh-mm, where to start....
First I'm an Apple fan-boy (I can prove it, in my house we have 2 Core 2 Duo MacBooks (Black), 1 80gb iPod, 2 1gb Shuffles, and soon to be 2 8gb iPhones)
Sec. I don't want to get rid of Microsoft or Linux. We need all three, it's called economics, the computer world would blow with only one of them.
Third. I'm tried of everyone acting like Apple is the mother ship and Steve Jobs is God. Don't get wrong he is a great guy but he never turned water into wine or walked on water.
Now where was I ...... what the hell is wrong with you!!!
wakka_wakka @ Jul 9th 2007 10:23AM
I shall second Matt's comment.
I too am an Apple fanboy but lack the money, being a teenager, to get myself an iPod or iPhone, much less a MacBook.
But yes. Without competition, quality slides. Nothing would be as cool as it is now if all those tech companies weren't racing to make some breakthrough before another. and under one software company the world of computers woud shift from democracy to dictatorship, in which we couldn't change anything unless we made our own operating systems.
And what on earth, Miles, do you have against Linux?
eliasgreydrummer @ Jul 9th 2007 5:52AM
What they're not saying is this is really the next-gen iMac running Windows via Bootcamp. Samsung does manufacture many things for Apple. This just happens to be the next big thing. pun intended.
LordFarkward @ Jul 9th 2007 6:20AM
but can it play doom?
no, seriously, playing doom/css/fps games on it would be awesome... all you need to do is just touch the head on screen (which would be easy on a 70")... i can see myself being accused of "41mb0t!!!" easily with all the headshots :)
Reader @ Jul 9th 2007 6:31AM
Knowing counter strike players it wouldn't be long before one got too excited and punch a hole in the screen.
Chris M @ Jul 9th 2007 3:32PM
70" screen for an FPS. You'll get more of a workout than if you were playing a Wii. Jumping from side to side trying to touch everyone's head...
Granted, cool concept.
Chris
Rick Lyon @ Jul 9th 2007 8:04AM
So when Windows crashes you can punch the screen out of frustration?
ablkshrt1 @ Jul 9th 2007 8:16AM
That isn't an error message; it is the message that XP displays when the screen resolution is set to a very low resolution for the monitor. You can tell because the "error" is popping up from the system tray as well. Very common on new XP installations.
strider_mt2k @ Jul 9th 2007 8:33AM
Still, how long would it take to clear that out before taking pictures for the photo shoot that is to SELL THE PRODUCT??
Just plain sloppy, and it implies sloppiness elsewhere.
Christopher @ Jul 9th 2007 12:46PM
You're looking at the wrong error message
We're not talking about the system tray notification
We're talking about the right in the middle, in your face, message box error message
Cesar Cardoso @ Jul 9th 2007 8:53AM
L.Cyphre asked: "The true question is: where the HELL is the gorgeous Korean model!?"
That's the real question, guys, not fanboying wars.
strider_mt2k @ Jul 9th 2007 10:22AM
I see the wisdom in your words...
Maytag @ Jul 9th 2007 1:19PM
Touch-screen AND a gorgeous model. Hm....
Zeek @ Jul 9th 2007 10:15AM
I assume the 32" is the remote for the 70".
Dan @ Jul 9th 2007 1:33PM
That post deserves this reply:
"lol"
Doug @ Jul 9th 2007 1:49PM
That post just made my morning.
Datacide @ Jul 9th 2007 5:10PM
That's just soooo frikken great. lol so much. sweet. sigh. anyways, i want one and i want one now! Wonder how much the touchscreen model would cost?
wakka_wakka @ Jul 9th 2007 10:33AM
Playing any game (Halo, CS:S, NFS, whatever) would be awful on a 70 inch touchscreen. Think about it. It's almost 6 FEET, diagonally. And only being 1080 would make it worse, that low a pixel density should be viewed from the couch, not arm's length.
Like sitting in the middle of the front row in a good-sized movie theater watching an action movie. The FPS players would snap their necks looking forom one side to the other fast enought to know all that was going on. Is a bad neck for the rest of your life worth the fragging precision?
How do i know someone will say yes.
Alex @ Jul 9th 2007 11:36AM
If you sit far away enough, which means you have a big enough room, you won't have to move your neck.
Calvin @ Jul 9th 2007 12:13PM
then how would you touch it
David @ Jul 9th 2007 2:11PM
oooooh....lifesize porn! ...on a TOUCHscreen!! i hope this thing is easy to clean...
Chris @ Jul 10th 2007 7:30AM
The error message is just complaining there is no internet connection..
Datacide @ Jul 10th 2007 6:46PM
Is it just me, or do those messages say '09 f9'...
