Microsoft has Xbox 360 price cuts in the works as well?

Oh, don't act so surprised. Was there ever really any chance that Microsoft would let Sony get a free ride for long on price cuts and start swiping console sales? Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter doesn't think so, and he's come out with predictions of price cuts across the board for the Xbox 360, in response to Sony's impending $100 PS3 slash. Michael expects the Elite to drop from $479 to $399, the Premium to sink from $399 to $349, and the Core to fall from $299 to $249. He seems to think it's connected with the Xbox 360 shipment shortage of late -- which could just as well be caused by a potential heatsink revamp, but his price-cut logic probably isn't far off either. Unfortunately for those of you waiting for a Nintendo console to make less of a dent in your wallet, Wedbush Morgan doesn't expect the Wii or DS prices to move by the end of the year, as sales remain strong for those two.

Wii price cut? Who cares? The day I can walk into a store that "sells" Wii consoles, and actually SEE one on the shelf is the day I might actually buy one. Insane. I'm not going to jump through hoops, get up at dawn and wait in line to buy ANYTHING. If you have a product and you want me to buy it then you have to make it available to me!

Why would we need help? They gave us the greatest system of this generation and has a TON of community features... The only issue with it is the reliability, which I haven't had any problems with, but apparently others have.

I'm one of those unlucky folks that had their 360 die on them and sold it off before MS announced their new warranty, arrrggh! So I'm definitely WAITIING until the new cooler chips come out. Sorry MS but I have a feeling that's what a lot of people are doing, waiting until you get your act together!

1) i mean, to say that a ten dollar cable is not going to be equivalent to what comes
w/ the 360...jesus you're stupid. it doesn't matter how much the cable is. if its 28 awg, fully
supports hdmi 1.3a....then why overpay for a cable. Trust me, i spent many many many years selling
this stuff. If a cable is digital, and is 100% compliant of the most recent standards of the cable
(hdmi 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.3a) why the hell would you want to justify spending 100 on a monster 60, when
there are TONS of places (cablestogo.com) that sell sub 15 dollar ul/cl3 rated cables.
2) why does the ps3 need to have a 120 gb hard drive...any reasoning? or are you just trying to make it seem like it is more money
3) how many people do you know that live in 500 sq foot homes where their computer is right next

5)no, blu ray and hd dvd dont PLAY at the same resolution. it depends on what codec, and what
bitrate the studio uses that will make the difference between in picture quality. if anything,
because of the ADDED CAPACITY of a 50 gb disc, you can RAISE the bit-rate of the encode, and
increase the picture quality...again, FACT.
6)the 360 has more power...and rapes the ps3 in performance...there's no replacement for...

you doubt there's 2 million failed consoles, that just doesn't seem possible? they've shipped 11.6
million consoles as of Q2 2007 w/ a 30% rail rate that puts them at 3.48 million so i would say
2 million failed is about right (yes, the 11.6 million was shipped units, not sold units)

i dont know why there are so many 360 fanbots on here (i say 360, because it always seems like they

that makes the most games that you like, and stick w/ that. Period. I like the Gran Turismo franchise, and there was no chance it would ever go w/ 360...plus i've had the two previous PS consoles, so i went w/ Sony. If you like halo, you like gears of war, and you like the features
of xbox live...go w/ xbox. But why would u blindly talk shiet on the competition? Its hard for me
